Check the relay plug on the left inner fender. I thought my starter was going flaky but it was the connection on the relay. I took the socket apart and cleaned the connectors and cleaned the spade pins of the relay as best I could and it started working fine again.
I bought a contactor set for the solenoid but didn't use it either. I'm sure the starter will go eventually so having the parts is a good thing.

"The truck has been hard to start lately. Once it gets going it's OK but after it sits for 5 minutes it acts like it is not got fuel. I checked the fuel pressure after the filter and it seems adequate. I changed the filter and checked the pressure again with no change. But the truck started fine after getting all the air out of it.
If it still acts up in the morning I'm wondering if I have an air leak in the line between the tank and the pump. I replaced the rubber line at the tank and the line to the Piston pump is OK. Is there any other rubber line under the cab?"

I finished up installing a new amplifier box for the Isspro pyrometer and now have a functioning EGT gauge. Installed a PDR intake and BHAF. Took the 'brick' out on I-80 and matted the pedal, boost just shy of 20 (still stock turbo), and EGT max 900 with foot in it pulling a grade. Can't wait to get the S300G installed next weekend! It's only been in the closet 3 1/2 months, don't want to rush things!

I went to the U Pull It yard this weekend and picked up a hydroboost off a 98 2500 truck. It was a Cummins truck but someone beat me to the engine. They left the trans and converter though so I snagged the converter, expensive cores they are. The trans was a 2WD RE so I really have no use for it. I did grab the Trac Loc differential out of the rear. The clutches are worn out but everything else looks good. I can rebuild it and swap it out for the worn out one in my truck during my vacation next month.
Collecting parts now for the hydroboost conversion. I'm going to have fun with that one.

The climbing into the bed issue can be solved with a Beaver step. It looks pretty handy for a step and a place to hook your ****** strap to. I’ve been thinking about getting one for my rig. I use my step bumper to push heavy equipment into place, so I’d need a push bar of some sort, if I went with the cool bumper.
That looks like it would leave its mark really well on the ricer car not paying attention while texting and he plows into your rear, lol

A weight distributing hitch works better. 70m.p.h. rear end collision on my neighbor’s dad’s truck with no damage. To his truck that is...

Went to Home Depot to get some soldering flux. The truck didn't want to start when I left there. I'll go fill the tank tomorrow to see if that makes a diff. If it does that points to the fuel leaking back from the engine.
Could the return line be draining the Injection Pump?
Why would air in the line from the tank cause hard starting if the Injection Pump is full of fuel?

Today, I put the plow in storage, emptied and removed my weight baskets, and dumped 480 lbs of sand into the dogs pen. Now the truck rides like a bucking bronco again.
Lol
Glad to see winter leave us.
