Picked up my radiator today. For once something on my truck was in good shape. He cleaned, pressure tested, and painted it. Said it had many years left of life in it.

mine leaked like a sieve. funny thing is the only thing I can see wrong is most of the solder on the header plates disintegrated.

The solder is easily repairable at the shop.

Its much cheaper than a new rad. The guy that worked on mine said that my radiator was very well made, much better than the aftermarket ones.

it's a wonder they didn't start using the crappy rads with the plastic tanks crimped on. we couldn't believe it when the tractor trailers started coming into the IH dealer I worked at with that junk.

I installed a 1993 12V Cummins into a 1973 Dodge D200. Lots still to do, however. The devil is in the details, as they say.

They are cheaper, lighter and don't corrode as easy when neglected. The problem is when they leak they are pretty much junk. They leak because when they don't handle expansion and contraction from heat cycles.

Today I got my fresh rad, rad hoses, waterpump and tstat installed. Also painted some engine parts while I had them off. One day the whole engine will be cummins beige.

Did the fuel heater delete, it had been dripping for a while now.
New Baldwin filter also.

Broke down in the dodge today.

Yes, I admit, the old girl let me down....

NOT !

The battery is 5 years and 6 days old, and crapped out in my customer's driveway. I went there to pick up waste materials from yesterday. Left the parking lights on (like I have for the last 5 years) for a few minutes while I loaded up the crapola.

Dead battery....

Oh well,

Customer drove me home, picked up my other truck, put the battery charger on it, on boost, and she fired right up...

GOD, do I love this truck, or what ?????

I also put my sand bag ballast cages in as well. Winter is around the corner according to Oliver, although I have yet to receive any pictures of it.....
