So, after seeing your truck over the last year, what does this mean you'll actually have to do ?

Break out the windex and a paper towel, and wipe light coating of dust off of them ? Other than completely restored vehicles, I don't think I've ever seen such an untouched lump of IRON before yours.

That moving crate you made up worked out very well, eh ? Nice and stable cartage....

Good to see it in action. Custom, purpose made tools, always seem to fascinate me.

Turns out I didn't get the rear most valve cover gasket seated right after my valve adjustment on the weekend....been loosing a fair amount of oil over the last couple days. Kind of noticed that there was more oil/dripping under the truck...but wasn't until today that I "really" noticed it. So removed the valve cover, cleaned the area and gasket and re-installed. Seems to be stopped now...will check when I get to work tomorrow morning.

So far today, I sprayed Phosphoric acid on my rusty(subjective) brake backing plates.

Stable it was! I don't think it moved at all. I'm certainly proud of it. I'm glad I could impress others with my amateur skills.

Thanks, T-man!

The other day I was headed to Hesperia to meet my son, I was going over Cajon Pass on the I-15, I was just pass the summit when the truck let out a loud bang and I lost power,
I backed off the throttle and took the next turnoff.

I pulled into an abandon gas station and found I had blown the crossover pipe off from the turbo.

Being late as usual, I took out a 10mm wrench and had the truck back on the road within 5 minuets.

After I got home I pulled the crossover for inspection, I guess I did not tighten the t-bolt tight enough last time it was off.

Always something At least it wasn't a bang followed by a whistle.

I did that last summer. Only mine popped when I let off the throttle on a upshift. I hit a small hill about 1 mile down the road. HHHMMM the CC couldn't hold speed. Looked in the mirror. OH shoot this ain't good.

Why ?

Is that when you've realized that you have run into a locomotive and the conductor is really mad at you ?
