Removed the injection pump and got it about 90% torn down. Have been following a online guide and been replacing o-rings as I find them.

Stopped for the day at the two triangle bolts and will mod a socket to fit those in the morning.

Not sure if there are any more seals though and might just start rebuilding. Going to see if I can find out.

Hey -- I think that the inserts look good, but I would really like to see more details of how you designed the winch-bumper-plow-frame!

Thanks,

Alec

Today I put my snow tires back on, and bologna tires back into the garage. I jumped the gun, not expecting any appreciable snow storms. Plow ready to go. Mentally, I was ready for spring

You want eh socket that has the dips between the 4 pins, so that you don't wreck the small locking ring retaining pin on the rear nut.

K-D 3246 is the one I use.

I have used that style before on my '93. Other trucks may vary, if the nuts were replaced with the rounded edge hex which came on the earlier external flange hubs.

Well I know how I would build it again, but I made this a few years ago and I had a meyer plow mount and a winch tray so I melded them together, bent the pipe and tube. It weighs 125lbs

This link has a pic showing the details

I did not realize that the socket would get hung up on that pin...it wasn't until I had bought this socket, and removed the rear nut, that I figured out why it had those indents between the pins. Was glad I had it after that.

If that one you posted up has at least one indent, then it should be fine I'd think?

I just went ahead and ordered the one you mentioned. Didn't feel like messing around with the possibility of it not being right and shipping it back and waiting for the right one.

Ordered all new timken bearings, races, and seals, spicer u joints, and Wagner calipers, rotors, and pads for the front axle. Should be a fun weekend project.
