This would be a great winter day for me. Hot means all the arthritic joints I have don't hurt as bad. I'll take anything over 80 degrees.

Heck I felt good enough today to get the saw out and start cutting wood for next year's painful season.

I took a buddy of mine who's been laid up with a bunch of medical problems to the bar tonight to get him out of his house BECAUSE it was 92* here and too frickin' hot to weld on the truck in the shop. Supposed to be in the 70's here for the next week or so. Better welding weather.

Whipped up a door switch plate for the passenger side door. Wires had just been hanging for the last well forever.

Nice work. I wish there was a reproduction source for those plastic switch holders.

I've got some extra switch panels sitting around. May even have your color. PM me if interested. FYI: Dodge vans of similar years to our trucks use the same switches and trim piece. Much easier to find vans with PW than trucks in the JY. At least around here.

Last night I finally decided to rewire my FSS with eyelet terminals rather than keep using those 24 year old push on connectors. The final straw was the truck shutting off while I was about a mile from home, leaving me with no steering or brakes, LOL. Sure enough, the push on connector had popped out.

While I was at it, I ran the FSS power thru a switch, so I can disconnect power to it, as a makeshift anti theft device. Read of a member here doing just that, and liked the idea.

The remote FSS switch is a good idea. I wouldn't put it anywhere on the outside of the truck however in case would be thieves are watching. Stick it somewhere like in the top of the glovebox and lock it.

Installed new clutch hydraulics

I finally got round to installing the new parts I accumulated. Bleeding the system was supposed to be such a pain but it was very easy. The hard part was the new master cylinder. I got a "Power Torque" brand from O'reillys and it would not turn the full 1/4 turn to install. I had to file down the high spots which took a while. Otherwise it works well. The old pushrod was worn and the pin on the pedal was worn also to the point that the pedal really had to be stabbed down hard for the starter interlock to work. I fixed the old pin with some JBweld and a new plastic bushing. Hopefully it will last. Now I really have to get used to the clutch engagement point is much later.

I also checked all of the instrument lights and replaced one that was burned out. I cleaned all of the pins on the PC board because the Ampmeter didn't but now it does.

I still have to figure out how to get the grommet around the master cylinder back in the firewall. It's a real PITA.

Oiled the bench seat tracks and installed the CBI reduction gearbox for the speedometer.

Will be doing other little odds and ends this week in preparation for our trip to Yellowstone and two sand dunes in the area.

I am also headed out for a 8 day trip to the SMNP with the camper, pics will be taken.

I dipped my rear wheel bearings, gave it a good waxing, put bed linner on the front part of my rear fenders, and I will be snugging up the trans pan bolts tonight as i have a small seep.

Gave the truck a good scrubbing today...man that cheap primer and paint took a beating over the winter, surface rust popping up everywhere! I have to get all those areas I painted stripped and re-done before next winter, or decided to drive Sno-ball instead and work on it over the winter.

Also removed the belt, and double checked for crank movement meaning a bad thrust bearing. Could not get the crank to show/feel any movement....so that's good. But with the belt removed, and no fan either, I went for a quick drive....rattle is still there.
