Was that with you in it?

Mine came in at 5,580 if I remember right.

Yeah I was in it but 5880 is not including me.

Truck didn't have spare tire or it's cradle either but does have air bags and their heavy brackets.

Serviced my little Case Uni-loader today.....Oil change and fuel filters. Having a hard time finding a reasonably priced Hyd system filter up here......everyone wants 70-115 bucks for one!

Then did the crewcab...oil change and air cleaner. Air cleaner had been on there about 35K km's and over 18 months.....figured it was time. Also ditched the clutch fan and put on my electrics for the winter.

Between the two they ate a full 19L pail of Rotella....and an extra liter to boot! Those cummins engines are greedy....

Went to start my truck today and the battery was dead. It's 3 months old! I put the charger on it for half a day and it wouldn't charge. So I took it to O'reilly's to test. They put it on their charger for an hour and it tested OK. So I guess I have a drain somewhere.

The charger I got from WalMart is one of those automagic ones that is 6/12V. It won't charge if the battery gets down to 8 volts. It thinks it's a 6V battery.

More tomorrow when I have a chance to check out what the problem with the truck is.

Picked up two Michelin 265/75r16 Load E tires with 1000 miles on them for $140.00

Don't need them but will put on the rear of the truck soon.

Buy yourself a 200A battery charger / jump starter / trickle charger.
Sears.com

Bought one some 20 years ago from sears and it still works like new. I'm sure other brands will be fine as well.

Thanks guys. That looks like a great machine but I almost never need a jump start except for yesterday. I would have done that with my other car and cables but I thought the battery had gone bad. Turns out it hadn't and the Automagic charger wouldn't function because of misplaced safety concerns. The regulators, especially here in CA really make me angry sometimes. Battery chargers used to be dirt simple now a lot of them just suck like the one I have. If the battery is dead the charger is worthless.

Working on getting this one.

Wife wants to "Give it away" to me, but I haven't heard the husband's story yet. It's technically his, and I'm sure he just doesn't want to get rid of it.

Frame is rotted away. Don't think it can be driven safely.

Would bring it home, dismantle it, and save all the parts for my Brick.

or sell some of them I can't use like that sweet tailgate plate. Who knows ? Maybe I can sell Ollie something off of it...

After getting my battery charged by O'Reilly's for free. Thank you very much, I put it back in and redressed the terminals until I can afford the tools to do the job right. I put a trickle charger on it to keep the battery up. It had only set for 3 days so I'm not sure why it wend down so low. I forgot to check the Alternator charging voltage. Oh well. Another day.

I also jacked the truck up and put the plug back in the bell housing where the barring tool goes. The original one got broken and I had to go to the Cummins dealer to get a new one. It's not exactly easy to get to or push in because of the big O-Ring. I finally was able to put my big crowbar up there and tap it in.

The weather has been so warm with no salt in sight, I called up my insurance and threw the '91 back on.
It was nice to take it for a drive yesterday. The dog sure likes the bench seat for cruising down the road with her head in my lap.
I love the old "unrefined" truck. It is not pretty. It is not quite. It smokes a little. I bounce around the cab like a pop corn kernel in a hot pan over the bumps in the road…But for some reason it makes me smile every time I fire it up!
