Factory Manual High idle set-up
Going to post up this thread with the info and pics I just found that I had posted up almost 5 years ago now! Now it can then be searched and found a little easier.
The Factory High idle set-ups came on 89/90 1st gen trucks with a Cummins and 5 speed Getrag transmission. I snagged my set-up off E-bay when it popped up one night with a BIN price...Couldn't be happier with it and use it all the time. I installed it on a 1993 dash frame no problem, holes and brackets were there and it mounted perfectly.
Pics of the assembly....
Location to the right of the fuse panel....
Bracket location on back of dash...upside down....
Bracket and handle....

This is great but how is one supposed to get it to work? I have pushed, pulled, twisted the thing and nothing happens. Mine is either badly messed up or I'm really stupid. (not out of the realm of possibility)
Thanks

-You use your foot to depress the pedal slightly, think 1500 rpm is the max I can get out of my set-up,
-Then you pull out slightly on the little handle to get the cable to tighten up and pull the little lever to engage the pedal,
-Then give it a little twist to the right to lock the cable in place and your idle should now be set at whatever your foot chose.
Sometimes it takes a time or two to get the little handle to lock in place, but don't twist too hard or you might damage the locking mechanism....I read that somewhere at some point.
I also like to give the throttle a little "tap" after setting the idle just to ensure that the little lever is set in place properly.

Hey TC, I found the same one on Ebay as well.
Mine looks to be an earlier version of yours.

I would use some light oil and move it around a bit.
