Does anyone know if the 02 with manual tranny has this option? I've had a couple dealers tell me they dot have that option but I've seen several people on here with the same truck and they have high and 3cyl idle. I need any and all info on this if you guys can help me. It's rapidly getting colder here And my truck has to sit out and I'd really like to have this option. Thanks all.

 

Nonsense - Most dealers couldnt buy a clue, which is a shame.

Yes, it will work on your truck. Works on my 01 6 speed anyway. There are numerous conditions that must be met to get it to actuate.

Where are you? The easiest thing to do is to buy a Smarty or find someone that will let you try theirs. When they take it off, the high idle and 3 cylinder idle will remain enabled. Check out your local DTR Chapters - I guarantee there is some good guys there that would be more than happy to help you out:

Mine works to my high idle kicks in when the out side temp is in the 20s and the 3cyl kicks in when its in the teens and lower. Man its sure handy when its cold specially if I kick in the exhaust brake

 

my high idle and 3 cyl work as it is supposed to, but the 3 cyl won't kick in until below zero......... i expect the temps to get down in the low teens tonight,

 

actually it got down to 5 this morning....no 3 cyl

I had the same problem, 5 different dealers all looked at me like I was crazy...i still ain't got it flashed yet. Even showed em in the manual where it says it is available and to see the dealer

 

here is a tsb, print it off and give it to the dealer, I had no luck the dealer charged me 100$ and it still did not work, found a local guy who used his smarty...now my high idle works
