What did you do to your Gen 1 today?
I started work on a sheet metal fuse box cover for my dash on Thursday. I got tired of looking for a good one in the wrecking yards.
I have the cover pretty well figured out (I think).
I am not decided how to mount the fuse box to it yet. The easiest way would be to copy the stock mounting. the ideal way would be to move it to a more convenient location and be done with it.

Finally had a few minutes to download my pix from the trip from Ohio to NJ and back. Nothing crazy wabbit, just some scenes of the highway, hotel, and dinner and such.
The factory wouldn't let me take photos, or at least they discouraged it, so I'll keep those few I snuck in to myself..
lol
These are on the trip into / through PA. It's really spectacularly beautiful country once you get out past Harrisburg...

A few more on the trip.
A PA rest stop
Entry into OHIO from WV
Stopped in Zanesville Ohio to get some breakfast. Stopped at a Bob Evans.
Never do that again. YUK..... What crap food.....
Had to stop in to HD and whizz, then I took a ride downtown Zanesville. Lots of old historic buildings, churches, and urban blight. Really sad what America has become, where these beautiful old towns are mostly abandoned....
Got into Columbus and had some dinner at "Old bag of nails pub".
Goofy name, but the quesadillas were tasty along with the beer....
My shuttle bus to the factory was comfortable, albeit a bit narrow in the seating areas.

The slow ride home sucked for the first 6 hours.
One of you fellas a few years back warned me to NOT buy those R250 tires which had almost no real tread. I should have heeded your warnings, but live and learn.
At the halfway point, I stopped at a Dennys for some Brunch. My past experiences with Dennys has been less than enjoyable, but when there's not much else around you go with it.
The food was actually quite good. They must have improved their quality of their products, as it was really refreshing to have a homecooked meal at a Dennys. I'd go back there in a heartbeat, as this particular one was very, very good...
One of the bridges near Harrisburg is when the rain finally subsided...

Nice pics T-Man....thanks for sharing your trip.
I don't mind Denny's....for the most part. Your bad luck was probably due to poor kitchen staff at one of the restaurants.
How old are your tires? If they are older then 7-10 years the rubber can harden up and you loose traction. That is what happened to the tires I had on my old 68 Chrysler T/C wagon....had tons of tread left, and no visual signs of deterioration, but hit a bit of rain and the wagon would slide all over the place....and worse when you hit the brakes!
I would highly recommend the BFG Commercial T/A's I'm running. I've had these for about 6 years, and they are probably worn to about 50-60% and have used them in all driving conditions. I figure I have over 80K Km's on them? Nice straight line tread for good fuel economy, but enough sieping to give you traction in bad weather.

Drove back southbound over the grapevine towing a 16' car trailer with a small garden tractor on it and truck bed full of lawn maintenance tools.
Held it at 62mph (California is 55mph for towing) in 5th gear and saw 1100 on the pyro and only 10psi of boost.

First time I've ever towed with this truck and barely felt the trailer back there.
