Has anyone ever sucuessfully installed Bostrom air seats in their truck?
I have had more than 10 serious accidents since 1999, all of them involving drunks and all rear ended.
I used to enjoy long drives in my truck (tens of thousands of miles) but sometimes I have problems just getting into my truck.
Now nothing much helps.

Does it shift better after the trans warms up?
Maybe your synchros are wearing out

That end was present and in good shape when I did the 4wd conversion. Doesn't take much to pop the slave cylinder out to check.

I installed all new synchros...my fear is the "NV4500 fluid" I bought was not the right stuff. They claimed it was...but who knows. It's seems to be getting harder to find...maybe should have gone with the Amsoil stuff.

Went to the wreckers today and grabbed another hydroboost firewall bracket from a early90's Astro van. So now I have a complete spare hydroboost set-up rebuilt and ready to go. Also grabbed a decent pass side seat foam from a 2nd Gen truck...to use as a replacement for my drivers side cushion in the crew.

Installed a new block heater cord and got my fuel gauge working again.
A little at a time.
Only 998 things left to do now.

Thats no good. Forget the small trucks: Get yourself a Deuce-and-a-half and drop a 6BT in it! Bostrom seat should be no problem in that.

Oh man, you bring on the memories. I had a 47 military power wagon with a ford flathead V8 and ford 5 speed in it. Pulled a dump truck out of the ditch at idle while standing beside it twiddling my thumbs on a bet. You could easily outrun low gear with any ordinary winch. Top gear, flat out praying for rain was 47 mph.

It was tough on axles and hubs when it was abused.

Even though it's a gasser 360, started teaching my Grand Daughter how to drive a straight shift in the 89. Truck was hating life, but no trees were injured in the effort!

Good for you.....not enough young people know how to drive manual trannies nowadays. I've already informed my daughters that they will have to learn to drive Ol' Patches.

Back in the 50's, possibly early sixties in BC if you got your license on an automatic you had to do another road test if you wanted to drive a standard.

My oldest daughter had a heckofa time learning to clutch a stick. I took her out on a back road in the rice burner (88 Colt) and made her start out in low without touching the throttle. When she mastered that, we did it in second gear. Tough on the car, but she got the friction point idea in less than a half hour.

Glad to see you working on "Rust Bucket" again!
Any cool new plans for it?

I've made lots of "plans" for it....

For now, running and driving, and to the dragstrip are the goals!

Still have to hook up the nitrous to spool, turn on the water to avoid killing the turbo, make sure the slicks hold air, re-install the driveshaft loops, fix a fuel leak, and drive it around a bit to make sure nothing falls off.

I'm not proud of this, but it's been sitting for almost 2 years, so I have lots to check. I also have to re-learn how to drive it, I rolled into it in second, hit lock-up, and it spun the tires and hit the governor before I had time to shift to third!

Jim find a late model truck wrecking yard. Look at the seats from a late model Pete. 2010 + on the year range. The floors are flat in them. The air ride section on the seat is a real low profile. Total rise from bottomed out to full height is only around 6" or so. Thy might work. The seat backs are about the height of the captains chairs used in our trucks.
