i hear that, I did my 90 snowplow truck this year and found the same time frame wow, I usually change every other year as it only gets about 1500 mile per winter. This year oil and filter, fuel filter, air filter and tranny filter as well.

Got a few minor differences fixed on Patches the other day. Had a leaky valve stem on one rim so pulled the tire, broke the bead, slipped in a new tire valve. The dash lights stopped working a couple months ago but just been driving with a dark dash....so decided to see if it was just a fuse or a larger issue like the LED dash light(s) shorting out (which has happened to me in the past)...turned out it was just a blown fuse. Been dry and cold for a few weeks so decided to give the truck another good oiling...doors, fenders, rockers, cab/body/box mounts etc.

Today I changed the fuel filter, repaired one of the connections on my Pyro wiring and swapped out the rear output shaft seal and retainer (leaking very badly) on my NP205 for the one from my spare transfer case.

Good to hear from you again thrashingcows, been a while.

I started mine for the first time in I don't know how many weeks, maybe a month. Too much snow to get a feed truck so had to run down to the mill and buy a bunch of bagged feed instead.

I need to start back on figuring out why sometimes it fires right off and sometimes it has to crank and crank...

I also now need to figure out where the brake fluid went. Pedal almost went to the floor. The master cylinder was almost dry!

Ordered another 3 gal case of Suncoast ATF. I will have 9 gal total. The PPE pan will add a few quarts of capacity.

I'm stomping the floor waiting for my oil coolers to arrive. 1 coming USPS. It arrived in Nashville 3 days ago. "On it's way to the next facility." It's 50mi tops. Probably headed to Philly by now. FedEx claimed the other one was going to arrive on Tuesday. Today is Thursday, it's on the delivery truck for today............maybe.

Goal is to bypass the heat exchanger, and the radiator.

Where did you decide to put it? I like the spin on filter option!

I'm not seeing any brake fluid leaks. I'll monitor it in case the booster is bad...

Brake booster would not be fun. I was wondering that about mine.

Accidentally ordered the one without the fan. $21 I have the same brand fan coming that's push, or pull. It's all frozen ice under the truck in a bad place. Couldn't get it out yesterday. Spun the tires and it melted the snow, refreezed to ice. Mid to upper 50's today. Have some rolled commercial roofing membrane. Will lay that out in the flat gravel take this thing ouy with me. It may be over kill. There is a place to plug in a temp probe.

Sorry to hear that but glad you are back here with us! Hope things keep improving for you.

You guys with heated concrete floors and lifts must be a bunch of sissies, I'm really enjoying my drafty old tobacco barn with a dirt floor "shop"...

Been getting a lot of snow up here, so I had the old plow truck out pushing around a foot of snow yesterday.

I needed to swap out the old battery for a different old battery I had on the charger, to get it started.
30 minutes in she died in the middle of my driveway. I got out and tickled the FSS wire connection and she fired right up. 10 minutes later, it started to have low power, like it had a fueling issue. I added some Power Service and 5 gallons of fuel, in case. The fuel gauge read 1/4 tank, but am unsure I can trust it. I also wiggled the FSS wire a bit more. She fired right back up and plowed the rest of my property without issue.

The old yard plow needs a little love next summer. Seems to be over charging the battery. It is a ‘91.5, with the PCM and VR, so I will throw a VR at it when it warms up.
I will need to address the wire connection at the FSS as it is loose, causing random shut downs while plowing.

Tweaked my smoke screw last week. It was flush. Gave it a 1/8* turn down. Blipped the throttle. No black smoke. Went another 1/8th locked it down went for a ride. I starts fueling sooner with less pedal travel. Topped off the tank drove 100mi@65mph mostly interstate in to Nashville to get my new injectors at my friend's house. Maybe 10mi total light city driving 45mph speed limit. Burned less than 3 gallons round trip. I have a GPS speedo with trip logging, my speedometer is 3mph off due to the 235-85 tires. 35mpg and change.

Installed my "Isspro boosty" gauge, and rectal EGT probe to the factory manifold. Took a ride yesterday and stomped it up to 75mph and hit the brakes. 1150* so I am going to town to UPS to pick up my Ratman HV delivery valves. Will be winding it up on I-40 to evaluate the boost and EGT's. Talked to Evan Ratcliff before I bought the valves. Told him I am running the Max Fueled THD IP. Rated about 220-230cc's. He told me might run out of turbo with my 62/64 DAP HX35 with his valves. Also to be ready when installing the valves. It could induce runaway. The factory fuel screw is turned in all the way as delivered from THD. I think I saw 22lbs of boost with the H1C. Adrenaline was running and I was 75-80 on a 55mph 2 lane with no time to react if THP was to top the hill in front of me.

Discussed transmissions. He told me he used to race the snot out of his rig with a 518 he built. Never blew it up. However he does like the 47RH for the lock up. He runs a higher than stock stall converter for racing. Mine is supposed to be tighter than stock. Have the whole 518/46rh from Suncoast flex plate to tail shaft to install. Maybe in a couple of months.

Placed an order for a Gear Venders remote unit. This will require cutting the front driveshaft, maybe building a new rear one all together. Will have to go down in U-joint size to fit their input yoke.
