Nope...got really sick last week, then been having to help clean up and organize my parents old place to sell, since Mom has decided that the old place is too big for just one person, and is moving into a small apartment. Not a lot of spare time for working on cars and trucks right now.

That tends to happen now and then.

Cows, I can relate as my father just passed in August.
Now that grass cutting season is back around its even more time consuming! But thats what we do, right?

I forgot why I originally wanted to post here.

I'm wondering if anyone has done the hydroboost and the reverse rotation steering on one of these rigs?

Bobva is working on one and so am I. I am going on a booster hunt tomorrow. We will see what I bring home. I am leaning toward the GM because the brake fitings are the same as the first gens. The second gens are metric.

I have a hydroboost setup from a 95 (if memory serves) Chevy diesel including steering pump. I also have a RR steering box mount that I plan to use with a gearbox from Chip as layed out in NJTMAN's thread.

It's time to start putting it all together, I noticed the input seal on the gearbox is leaking again.

Yeah looks like the right time. There is only one fitting that is a slight problem. Because the steering box sits with the fittings facing the frame the pressure port fitting is in a tight spot.

There are a couple ways around it. Bob and I have had some phone conversations on it. We came up with a couple ways to do it.
I will post up some pictures on my build thread as soon as I get going.

You are welcome . That is the best one I have seen so far.
The guy that wrote it seems to know more about the booster than most of the others.

Today I gave Patches a good cleaning...inside and out. Noticed my E-brake pedal assembly had come loose AGAIN! This is the third time in just over a year. This time it got lock nuts and washers instead of the OEM hardware. And I greased the drive train as well.

Then pulled the skid plate off because it was rattling every time I hit a decent size bump. It was the center part that rests against the tranny cross member. It was worn through the paint to make shiny metal. I cleaned everything and then added some Neoprene/foam gasket material. Should quiet it up for a while.

I also swapped out my 93 LE tailgate since the latches were starting to fail and only the RH side was actually grabbing...barely. I swapped for one of my earlier tailgates. The center brushed aluminum trim panel was missing the "Dodge Ram" emblem, so there were 3 holes visible.

So I dug through my box of misc ram emblems and made this up. I had a set of "Ram 150" emblems, so I cut off the 150. And the "Cummins Turbo Diesel" was cut off a junk set of "Power Ram 250/cummins turbo diesel" emblems. A little black paint along the edges where they were trimmed, and some 3M trim tape and voila!

Did some AC diagnosis today. Wanted to see if the AC would blow cooler with no Power Stroke Intercooler in front of the condenser. So I pulled the front of the truck apart, then stuffed an old fan in front to help blow air across the condenser.

It was 37*C (approx 105*F) and with no IC in the front I was seeing about 57*F from the vents. After reassembly I ran the truck again and the temps jumped up to about 65*F.

So clearly the Intercooler is causing the efficiency of the system to drop.

Only problem I ran into was one of my intercooler boot clamps snapped.

Thankfully I had a spare big one from ??? That worked as a replacement.
