Sorry -- some ideas are just so bad you have to let them out. Don't let it reflect on my respect for Brian and "patches".
It's not that bad of an idea...I actually have toyed with the idea of doing every panel in a different color.

I can't believe how much trouble you have had trying to find an OEM style pilot bushing for a Getrag. I'd have thought they would be easy to find....just a click away.

Another reason to go with a NV4500....

Well patina is popular in some circles.

That does sound like the right place to be!

I noticed that they seem to be disappearing in the clutch kits. I have been told that they are obsolete by several suppliers.

I would consider the wax it and run it option.
You could always spot paint pieces that needed it.
The patch work / patina look is a cool, low budget approach.

Areal nice guy he made sure I hadn't overlooked something before taking the job. The first shop just looked at and said "NO"

Yeah Oliver it's really not too bad. I keep it clean and a little polish on it. But I will probably just do a few panels at a time when I go to repaint it....more like one color at a time. But no rush on my part. My daughter love Patches the way it is, even their friends have said to me that they don't want to see patches painted one color....

The electricity was scheduled to be off today so I cleaned up the frame and cab a little. I will go over it again once or twice.

Spent all day on little details.

1.) installed A1 Cardone New vacuum pump, with I/C style support bracket. Oil line fit just fine.

2.) installed power steering pump

3.) installed Ford oil pressure sender in stock location

4.) installed aftermarket autometer oil pressure sender above oil filter.

5.) torqued manifold down, prepped for turbo install.

Next need to modify and locate transmission crossmember, and fill the 'Rag with 6 quarts of purple power 5w30 ( I have aux coolers.)

What sort of aux. cooler are you putting on your Rag?
I had a hard time getting the large aluminum finned Trans Coolers that Geno's sells to work well on my Rag.
They seem to limit access to one of the Bell housing bolts.
They work great on my NV-4500s…
I ended up using some aluminum plates that where CNC'ed out with cooling fins inside and out, on my Rag.
They don't really add much extra fluid capacity though..

I have the "Trans Cool" Geno's ones. I've used them before. I had to use the die grinder to clearance them for the bolts, yes. Still worth it for the extra quart and easy 1/8" npt port for trans temp.

My Ford has more than a few gauges... Have to make use of them.
