What did you do to your Gen 1 today?
WIF light comes on.
Took the truck out to get some supper and the WIF light came on briefly then went off about 1/2 block down the road. It's done this several times today when I first start the engine. I drained some fuel out into a jar but I saw no water. I disconnected the plug to the heater which I now realize was the wrong one. To late to look at it again tonight. Check back tomorrow.

Many things
I’ve been working on a lot lately. In the past week I got the clutch in, the area of frame around where the transmission and transfer case will go got painted with Chassis Saver, old holes in floor got patched, repainted areas of floor that had been welded and ground on, and then today I worked on putting the upper parts of the transmission crossmember in and mocking up mount from NV4500 to the crossmember. I think I should be able to get it in in the next couple days. Then I just have to wait for the transfer case to be done and get that in too. Then it will be time to put the clutch hydraulics on, put interior back together with new flooring I got, and have the driveshafts adjusted for length at a shop while I do so. It will be nice to finally have a vehicle again and not have to bum rides to work every day. Truck hasn’t been driveable since. The 47rh went out May 26th. Some of the parts were hard to find and then this is round two on a transfer case since UPS “lost” the other one I bought.
I will still have to get a new transfer case shift position sensor and find a clutch safety switch somewhere.

Yeah! I didn’t make as much as I hoped, but made a fair amount I guess. I wanted to get the transmission in yesterday, but I ran into a bunch of problems in the details of the 3” square tubing for the mount. I’ve got to get a 5/8” drill bit for the bolts holding the square tubing to the mounting plate on the crossmember and then I should be able to put the transmission in. I need to bolt up the t-case shifter mount to the transmission top that I got from advanced adapter. I am hoping that I can get it positioned right. I patched he hack job that the P.O. sawzalled in the floor to move the t-case shifter back so it would be in the factory position. Not sure how much of a difference the thicker dapper plate will make, but I think I can make it work. I really don’t want to have to cut the floor and re-patch it.
Mine is too. Wife hands them out like candy, I make her work for them.

Well after watching some of those Dale Brisby clips after seeing that one on a "1st Gen for sale - not on sale" I laughed a lot but winced when he kicked his door open and it over extended and bounced back and he kicked it again. But it quilted me into removing my lower driver's hinge this morning and replacing the bushings and pin. Man I should have done that years ago... guess I ain't no cowboy after all...
This may be old news, but I watched the remake of Red Dawn last night, and that movie is chock full of 1stgen scenery. It was the casts main source of travel as they moved about from the enemy. It killed me to see the good guys escaping the bad, and crashing that truck thru the woods and shattering a perfect front grille. It was genuine, too, with the Dodge logo on it. Couldn’t tell if it was a diesel, though.
Thanks.

Don't buy a regular drill bit, get a set of these step bits, they are worth their weight in gold:

I first saw them in use on the American Chopper show. They make the cleanest holes and all you have to do is stop at the size you want. I first thought that I had to drill a pilot hole, but it is not necessary, they drill better than regular bits.I have one that is an inch in diameter...Mark
WIF light problem
I went to check the sensor in the bottom of the fuel filter. I laid down a pan to catch the fuel but before I unscrewed it I decided to unhook the plug and try turning on the ignition. The WIF light still comes on. I tried starting the engine and it stays on.
Is there another sensor someplace else? Is the sensor working without being connected to the light? AFAIK it's just 2 wires sticking up into the fuel in the bottom of the filter.
