It has been on my mind the past couple weeks on how to install bed tie downs for securing cargo (dirt bikes, dog crates, pallets, etc.). Has anyone here installed some in he corners of the bed? If so, how did you attach them? I don’t want something that is going to rip out or bend the bed.
I put Eyelets at all 4 boxes in the bed. They are not down low at the bottom of the bed but sure handy!
That's a great idea! I use one of those stools to climb on but it keeps sliding away when I lean over. I used a cable to tie it to the front wheel to keep it from sliding. I'll try your trick to see if it works for my stool.

It's hard to tell from the pic, but the rear legs are a few inches above the ground and it makes for a real comfortable angle. That thing lives in the bed...Mark

I’m going to put 4 of these into the corners of the bed floor. I don’t remember where I got these from, but the eyelet is removable, so they’re out of the way when not in use.
'73 I'd love to see your Ghia...I bought my wife a '72 for our 20th anniversary.
Mine is original paint, which my dad primed over and then put into storage back in 1980, as he lost interest in the car and moved on to other projects. I bought it from him a few years ago. Planning a full concourse restoration after we buy a house in Northen Arkansas. Nice Ghia you guys have!
thanks...it looks better in pics. She had a fender bender a few years ago, and the body shop did a nice job on the repair...but screwed some other things (and us) up. Hope to get it redone after my road runner gets finished.

those are cool. just make as big a backer as practical form 10 gauge and that should be sweet.

Yep, all the way through. Also note, the eyelet bolt is 1/2 x 13 thread, so you can bolt brackets, motor cycle wheel stops etc to the bed easily.
NJTman thanks. Most of it is my dads. I’ve got the Ghia. The Bug convertible under the tarp was my first car and I’ve done some horse trading with my dad on a few cars... getting that convertible back hopefully to restore for my daughter.
It's raining today so I haven't got to do any more on the wiring of the auxiliary USB and switched 12v plug for the GPS. Been watching the news about 5 people getting killed in the mudslides in Santa Barbara and Ventura fire areas. Glad I'm a flat-lander.

I’ve been in it all day....had to do some electrical repairs and troubleshoot a bad PLC on a machine outside.... tons of people driving 80mph in the rain with no lights on, next to people doing 40mph with no lights on. My customer in La Mirada said “a small funnel cloud came down and took 3 EZ-ups away from the parking lot”. Be careful out there.

I've always noticed that with so little rain the people out here in commiefornia have no concept of how to drive in it. Like when the roads are slick and visibility is low maybe you should turn on the lights and slow the F*** down!
