Hooked Patches up to the trailer to go get some 20' pieces of steel today for building some attachments for the old Case Skid Steer.
Going to be building a tooth bar for my current worn out bucket, as well as a set of removable/bolt on forks for the bucket as well. I might have enough left over to build a bolt on hitch adapter for the bucket so I can move the trailer around the yard easier.
Also had to repair the pos/neg connections on the old Champion welder I picked up. The wires had frayed more then 50% at the main connectors. Tried for a couple days at several welding supply companies, but Couldn't get new replacement parts for the main connectors, so finally came up with the idea to use a butt splice for HD battery cables and solder the old connectors into them....worked out pretty well.
Nothing today. But I did order 60# springs, issopro tack and trans temp gauge. I'll be putting all that and a 3800 spring n the truck next week. Never done it before so we will see how it goes. The only part that worries me is the gov spring. I've read the stickies a couple of times and I think I might pull the pump just so I can make sure that I get the linkage back like it's supposed to be
I finally got round to putting the marker lights back on the tailgate since the replacement didn't have them. The new lights are LED which should outlast me. Next I have to remove the dually fenders for paint and install the lights on them.
Not sure of the dimensions but years ago I replaced the end on an old 1950's Forney buzz box using sections of 3/8" copper tubing and 3/8" ID hose for the handles,
I crimped and soldered the cables to the tubing then slid on the handles.
They worked for many years and cost nothing.

Wow Edwin,
That is a clean tailgate, where did you find that?
Did you run the wire through the driver side hinge?
Be sure to lock your tailgate on so it cannot be stolen.
Mine is straight but has a dent from a bullet in it.

We were in a RVing club and one of the other members had the tailgate extra because he had replaced it with one of those barred things for air pass-through.
I think I gave him $100. for it. Yes the wire is running through the hinge on the left side. It's the OEM wiring that came with the truck.
I'm scrambling to get it ready for a trip to KS to scatter my brother's ashes and get my tranny replaced. Got to do the fenders next. I think I'll paint them flat black to go with the front and rear bumpers.
I hear ya on the bullet. A week and a half ago we had a 15 year old boy shot in the head barely a block away. He lived 2 door down from me. My wife is looking for another house in a better neighborhood. When we bought this house 6 years ago this WAS a good neighborhood. Not anymore.
