Thumbs down Transmission Problem?

Today coming home I took a left turn at a light(wet road) and my truck bucked through the first 2 gears. Kinda like wheel spin, but later on it seemed to rev higher with less power. I have already had problem when accelerating out of a corner in second (downshift, upshift and then, down.) If i do have a problem what suggestions would you offer for a new transmission. Price, builder, etc.

You are describing the same symptoms that my truck did a little over a year ago. I had 3 previous visits to the dealer for transducers, solenoids and a flush with a valve body replacement. What was really happening was the stock torque converter was giving up and metal was washing through the tranny causing these problems. When it finally went out it was preceded by these symptoms for about 25 miles before it gave up the ghost. I had been researching new transmission options online and settled on ATS. WWW.ATSDIESEL.COM

The level 4 package cost $4,700.00 including shipping both ways. Got HP Tranny, Triple loc TC, and Commander to control lock up. They have a 3 year warranty. I'm very satisfied with it, especially when I'm towing my 13,500 lb camper with a golf car parked in the bed of the truck.

Fluid level is fine it was flushed about 10,000 miles ago. Fluid color was light pink
but didn't smell real good.

I'm certainly not in a hurry to spend that kind of money. What does the lubegaurd do and where do I get it. Although the trans seemed a little better, light foot, it definately seemed to be surging between gears.

hopefully its just fluid... if not, you should have the bands checked and/or adjusted. If that does not work, definately plan to upgrade the Tranny. I did the stage 4 from ATS, with commander and am blown away by it. Lock up is true. I always was concerned about pulling lots of weight, not any more. I have heard good things from DTT, and Sun coast also.

good luck.
