I put them on in my quest to try and eliminate some of the play in the steering before spending the big bucks for a steering box. That's why I wanna test it goin to my property. Its a 106 mile drive and some on a wash board mountain road. will only have a small load of weekend supplies. I put the Rancho 9000 on for the adjustability for when its time to get the trailer out before the snow starts.
I received my big 7/8" Allen wrench in the mail and spun my king pin off with just a 6' cheater bar.
I jumped down the rabbit hole a couple weeks ago. Thanks to the guys on here I figured out my death wobble was a frozen axle u-joint. So... while I had the whole think apart to pull the axle, why not replace the bottom pin bearing and if I'm doing that then I should bite the bullet and replace the upper pin and not just new bushing and spring. So I needed to order the 7/8" hex on top of new u-joints, bearings, bushings seals, tie-rod ends... and oh why not new brake hoses too...
Only hiccup so far is when I took the rotor in to turn they said it was too thin. I'm out of time and money so I opted not to get new rotors (press out lugs, order new - another rabbit hole).
All for just a dried out axle u-joint cup. Still way better than making payments for a newer truck that I wouldn't like as much.
Replaced ALL the front suspension components now off to have the truck alignment done. I was glad most of the Moog parts said made in the USA....except the center link...it was made in China!

i would do the same thing since the whole axle has to come apart for the axles and replacing the inner seals. You won稚 regret it when done.
I really like this upgrade some of you have done and have been wanting to do it also. I had 22 year old American Racing steelies which were looking pretty shabby so this brightened the truck up nicely again. I went with 285/70/17 E tires. Thanks for the inspiration.

Don't be disappointed if they don't improve much, they aren't real impressive to begin with. But new calipers and especially hoses is smart maintenance.

I totally agree, whether houses, equipment or vehicles I just can't bring myself to patch things up without putting it back right (unless it's an emergency). Even if they have to sit until money or time allows...
It痴 been quite a while since I致e last posted. Haven稚 done much to the truck except HIDE IT! I致e had people chase me from the store to my mail box, trying to buy the old crew cab from me. She痴 been in the mud hole a couple of times, made a few trips to my buddy痴 resort on the lake and that痴 about it. Still trying to find all of my stuff after moving, unpacking stuff and I have a big job interview on Friday. I have only worked 1 day since May 15th, so it痴 time to get back to spinning wrenches and getting a pay check again. Hope you guys are all doing good.

One word, well Hydroboost. I can stop my truck using just my thumb on the pedal.

The hydroboost seems to be working OK, the pedal is real hard when the engine is not running and gets much easier when running. I do not hear any vacuum leaks and you can hear the sound of the vacuum working when you push the pedal.

I believe he was referring to a hydroboost conversion. If yours is all original then you (we) just have the stock vacuum booster.
