What did you do to your Gen 1 today?
Where do you purchase? I could get it, and use this bad one as a backup
Btw, Bosch F002D13640 is printed on the Cummins solenoid. This thing better last...
Is that the Cummins Part No. on the side of the box ? (3903575)
I assume it is, just want to make sure.
Thanks for posting the Bosch No.
Can’t believe the price $228.41 WOW ! You’re right It Better Last !
I went back and read your post again, you already answered my question.
My oversight.
Thanks for the helpful information.
Still can’t get over the cost. WOW !
When you consider I've been, through 3 @ $45 from eBay, how much have I really spent in time, breakdowns, and cussing on the side of the road?
Tailgate stopped opening last week, the latch on the drivers side was not moving so assumed a clip had failed. Picked up a box of the assorted generic door latch clips and finally got around to checking this evening. Turned out it was the clip at the handle had broken. Had problems getting those phillips button head bolts out...so replaced them with a standard bolt on the re-assembly, might pick up some stainless allen button head bolts one day.
Replaced the broken clip and all is well again.
I also picked up 40 bundles of shingles for the shop roof today....loader wouldn't let me take all 61 since I would have been over weight....not that I minded at all, better safe then sorry and I'm sure it's their company policy anyway and I wasn't going to argue.
Truck barely felt the weight in the back, springs were just resting on the overloads. Will head back tomorrow and grab the rest.

Last night, I took the wife and my 16 year old pirate back to the veterinarian to get her stiches out.
All that " funny sound, funny feeling, truck not quite right.....its all gone, and back to normal.
I guess that little piece of rubber from the fss was blocking the orifice and defueling the motor.
That new, Cummins Bosch Fss better last.....otherwise ill bring the pirate up to the Cummins dealer, and let her loose

The other day, when I replaced my FSS, I also replaced the wire ends to the KSB, and the FSS itself. They were all loose, and years had paid their toll on them. Time for new connections.
Also, cleaned out the remaining bits of rubber that fell off in the pump from the FSS plunger going bad. With the FSS out, you pump the manual lever on the lift pump, and it pushes all the gunk out of the pump itself, out into the open through the FSS hole. I used my Vac-u-brake to suck it all out, while pumping. Then I wiped out the hole with q-tips ensuring nothing left behind. A dab of never seize on the threads, replaced the wire ends, and it's been running (and shutting off) like its supposed to.
A few years ago, I pulled the bracket for the throttle assembly where the cables all route through. The bracket itself isn't an issue, but the pivot itself had come loose over the years as it's only press fit together. I tried, back then, to re-press the fittings, but they just came loose again. Not a HUGE amount of play, but enough to retard response with the pedal, as instead of moving in a straight line, the pivot was articulating sideways, albeit minutely. Welded it up and it's rock solid.
No more loosey goosey at the throttle arm pivot
