Man what a pita it is to find wheel studs for these trucks! I went to 7 different local auto parts stores until I had 4 that would work.
The first visit sent me home with ones that were too small in width and length but once that was sorted out the search began.
4 local Auto zones said they each had 1 piece in stock, only 3 of them could actually find the stud. In the end I got one more at O'Reillys.
Napa's nearest were in LoS Angeles...

I did get the Chevy wheel cylinders but have to put them on at another time. I tired to get the first side flare nut loose and it wasn't budging so will deal with them when I have more time.

To get the seal out I found a combination of sockets that allowed my Construction/Framing cats paw to get under the seal and tapped the high side with a short piece of rebar until the seal popped out.

To press the new seal back in this 1990 KX500 piston did a pretty good job. I rotated it about 5 times as I could only hit it on the skirt in one place and after 3-4 revolutions the seal was in place.
Working on the same thing today, thought I had a leaking wheel cylinder. Turns out its a wheel cylinder and a wheel seal. Of course I didn't have a seal to put in and since it was a holiday couldn't get one either.

Did you use a 417158 seal?

Yes, Timken 417158. Amazon has them for $12 each.

Adjust both rear brakes after driving truck all week since having drums off.
Both sides needed 5-10 clicks to get a teeny bit of brake drag.
E brake pedal now doesn't go to floor.

Also put the blue bulb caps back inside the instrament cluster. Just having the LEDs only was creating a glare on the windshield and pure white isn't night friendly either.

Looks much better.

Blue / green light is best for me. I have a honda which has red instruments. HATE them. Can't read them very well at all.

Do they dim, or just that brightness ?

I have the LED's and the stock blue covers as well....I really like them. Mine dim just a little, enough to take the glare out of the gauges.

I'd agree with that.

Mine seem to dim maybe 5-10 percent before turning off.

My wheel seals came in so I was able to put it all back together. 3" shoes, 1 1/8" wheel cylinders. Now it should be ready for the new hydroboost system!

Here's my youngest son (4yrs old). Greasing the wheel seal

We'll test drive it tomorrow

Finally got around to drilling holes, wiring and mounting the 3rd gen cab lights. Much better having a lower profile, IMO!

It's running great so far. Waiting to hook to something heavy or shaped like a barn to drag around and seat the rings ASAP.

After driving home from work last night, I found it'll still make at least 45psi. It seemed like I was only into the throttle about 75%. Cruising at about 75mph, ~2100RPM, EGTs are down. To my best recollection, they were up around 750degs. prior. Yesterday I was seeing 625-650degs. That's always good. I didn't notice what they were when I goosed it but I have no doubt they'll be a little lower overall.

The exhaust note is noticeably deeper with the cam, too. It was fairly tolerable before the rebuild with the stock cam but my ears were ringing for a bit after that drive home . Certainly need to get an FTE resonator on this thing now.

Drivers side suspension airbag hasn't held air since I bought the truck last November so today I pulled it out and recut the tubing square and has held 30psi all day.

Also got a call from a buddy that looks like needs a VE delivery valve. Anyone got a spare core pump and willing to sell parts? Not sure what year his pump is as he said he bought it from someone but apparently one of the delivery valves may of been overtightened and it finally fractured.

Good thing is there is a Bosch shop in San Diego though so might just have to order from there.

What would you say was the number one contributor to lower EGT's ??

Probably the cam. However, the other improvements to air flow could be factors as well; mild port and polish in the head and a 3-angle valve job.
