I will be doing some preparation for my 4X4 conversion.
The front end is getting worse. It is more like herding than driving it.

I got my AC up and running again, very chilly now, Brrrrr!
might have to put the cycling switch back in to calm it down a little.

Sounds like the front end in my donor 93 the day I drove it home....I had probably over 180* of rotation of the steering wheel before the wheels would correct!! It was the steering coupler at the box...there was nothing left inside...just the cross bar binding up against the outer housing.......

If you just thread it out the wires will twist and possibly break off. You need to push the plunger in, and hold it there, while your screw it out. This allows the outer portion of the switch to rotate easily around the inner shaft.

Sounds like fun. some of the things we do to get parts. and there are people that can't get around the block it a perfectly working vehicle without wrecking.

That hurts,
I was less than a half mile from the house when I took my mind off the road and cornered, ( destroyed ) , my truck. Luckily, I found Val and some parts. Got my flatbed mounted, starting paint prep and making a "bridgeproof winch bumper".
Wow, I Love these First Gens. I have worked on a few second gens, but don't want one. With all the help I have gotten here, I am sure I can keep mine going a long, long time.

Yesterday I got a South Bend OFE clutch installed in my black crew.

Thanks Lary for getting those two clutches right out.!

The black crew also received a rear axle make over with new seals, fluid and a basic bearing inspection.
It also got new u-joints and a carrier bearing installed on the rear drive shaft last night.

Today the white crew gets a new South Bend clutch along with a freshly rebuilt getrag installed….

I am off to the shop for the day

Sorry about that Mike.
I was talking about the people like we have here that expect you to get out of "their way" and if you don't they run you off the road or run into you.
For example a couple weeks ago I was in a left turn lane. When the light turned green the truck to the right of me (From a no left turn lane) turned left nearly hitting my right side. When I blew my horn the guy in the passenger seat got all riled up and gave me the finger. At the next light the guy sticks his head out the window and asked me what was my problem. I told him he made an illegal left turn and almost ran into me .
His response: So what's wrong with that!

Yesterday I worked on some really tall jack stands. they must have been some sort of outrigger at one time.
My dad welded them to a 20" wheel some time back.

Any way there is an eye at the top that a 1.375 bar fits real nice. I found and cut a piece of 13/8" Bar and need to drill a hole in the end and weld a piece of short tubing under the eye.( so It won't roll in the eye.)

I see in your sig that you have a trans cooler on both of your manual transmissions. What type of cooler do you run? I was thinking of running the type with the deep aluminum fins.

I have the Trans Coolers on my NV-4500.
I am using the coolers I got with Moonshine on my Getrag that I am putting in my white crew.
Bill [previous owner on Moonshine] is making some really nice aluminum covers.
You can get both of them through Geno's.
