What did you do to your Gen 1 today?
A little thread HIJACK:
Only thing cooler in my opinion would be if it were an L model Mack!
I have been mulling over HDPE inner fenders for a long time, and bringing them out through an enlarged opening with a simple flare extension similar to the M 715 . . . If anyone succeeds with something like this, I would be grateful for a write-up.

I'm half way through killing the KDP.
Jig? what did it do? Inquiring minds want to know.
She offered to do my KDP for me as well, but I declined. Since her way of doing it was to go through the Timing cover, and not remove it, it just didn't seem the thing to do, as I've read on these boards, countless times, that other bolts were loose as well. On my own truck, I experienced "other loose bolts", so IMO.... Remove the Timing cover.

The downside to using the jig is you have no way of knowing if any or all of the case bolts are loose or about to fall out also or of the dowel pin is still seated or if it is ready to fall out and do damage.
It was a way to secure the dowel pin but I feel it is giving false sense of security, this was fine until someone realized the bolts were also falling out and doing damage.
This sounds like something the dealer would perform as a TSB fixing only enough to say it was fixed.

MrFusion be sure to check the camshaft retainer bolts also. When I did my KDP over a decade ago. I was able to turn those two bolts with my fingers.
If one of those falls out. It will take a camshaft with it.
One bolt you can get to with a socket. The other you will need to bend a 10MM wrench to get to.
They will not come out of the timing gear. All you can do is back them out as far as you can. Hit them with what ever spray cleaner your using. Locktite and screw back in.
