There are plenty of things i will keep, store, use. Just sucks the main thing i was after isn't all there. I was also thinking about a drw short bed crew. Would look awesome.

 

What, exactly, is the difference between a DRW axle and a SRW axle? I've never had one of each at the same time to compare, and have always been curious.

The clutch hydro bracket looks like a '98-'02 style master retainer, "customed" up to hold the master.
This put the master cylinder further out from the firewall, which made them have to make that "necker" designed added piece of flat metal to lengthen the push rod.
Pretty custom, but the kind of custom that starts with a K.

And I was just thinking you got all the 5 speed swap parts you needed.

 

The DRW axles are wider that SRW axles.
The CC Dually axles just by a few inches, the pick up truck dually axles are even wider.
They have a wider rear brake pad and bigger cylinder as well, IIRC.

 

Dually axles also have larger inner wheel bearings and larger seals.

 

and larger studs, 5/8" i believe

 

I thought the same thing until further inspection. It looks like it could be cleaned up and work but I'm still going to try and source the correct bracket and make a matching stock clutch pedal. Still tons of great parts on the truck though. Not to bummed out

 

I got a lot of work done last week.

Wrestled the beastly, 360lbs. (dry) NV5600 out from under the truck.







I probably should've put the front-end up on stands . I will when it all goes back together.



The front end sitting a bit higher just from removing the transmission.



As of Friday, the elephant under the hood is out.

 

Looks like you've got alot done and alot to do. Very nice. I regret not going with the NV5600 when i swapped from the 47RH instead of the NV4500 That extra gear seems like it would come in very handy

 

More from Friday. I fabricated the motor mounts to attach the engine to the stand I built. After setting it on the stand, I found that the 2" tube is forward of the balance point of the motor. I should have either centered them or set them towards the rear some instead. It's not a big deal though because I'm going to build supports for either the front and/or rear to secure it better.











The engine stand is mostly complete. Still need to add some gussets in a few spots as well as front and/or rear supports to better secure the engine.

Is the stand for storage of the engine, or some other purpose ? Shipping ? Disassembly ?

 

Drove to the Low Fuel light. Didn't even know it had a low fuel light. Pulled into a station filled her up, and noticed that she has a leak when full.... Guess it could be worse, leak could be on the bottom of the tank. Have not had a chance to pinpoint it, but just the lean of the road to the curb is enough to keep it from continuing to leak.

 

Check the ring that holds the sending unit in. It might have loosened off. I have seen that a couple of times on a friends truck. Once on my truck.

 

I took delivery of my chicom cummins factory new head and masked it off for paint tomorrow when the sun is out. It is the exact same high swirl casting number as the original, but with 7mm injector ports. VERY nice looking piece if I do say so myself.
