What do yall recommend for shocks. I'm running Monroe now. Couple years old but still seem very responsive. Keep in mind I'm a D not a W if that makes any difference.

Everyone who runs bilsteins raves about them. I have rancho's and they work fine.

Jim Lane found "non gas" charged (IIRC), and he said it made a HUGE difference.

PM him, although my past experiences is that he doesn't respond for .... say 6 months or so.... Maybe he'll chime in, or you can search his thread list.

in my opinion, the only shock I would recommend is the skyjacker M95 monotube shocks. they are really stout. i ran monroe, then skyjacker hydro twin tube(junk), now these, so i have some comparison. i didn't think I would see that big of a difference between a new twin tube hydro shock and the M95s, but it was night and day.

I have bilestiens currently have had Monroe, and skyjacker shocks in the past. The skyjacker monotones J mentioned are good as well. I don't think you could go wrong with any "good quality" monotone, be it bilestiens, skyjacker or wha ever else is out there.

Factory sway bar intact, in the front? I've owned 2 two x fours, and cannot remember if they came with front sway bars. My W250 now came with a sway bar in the front only. Put a Hellwig in the rear, and body role gone. I knew for sure that would fix it, cause my '02 PSD came with a front and not a rear, and that was the first mod I did to it back then and all body role gone. When I got my W250 years later I was sold on those Hellwig Anti sway bars. May cure your problem. Got mine thru JCWhitney
If I haven't commented yet on your rig, it looks sweet, BTW!

lmfao!

no, was just thinking that a sway bar wouldn't be enough to eliminate all body roll on our big, heavy, poorly engineered bricks

Nothing a power washer can't handle.

If you lived here, you'd be dealing with this.... so... you're lucky

Like this jeep frame.... Oh yeah, the red oxide primer really helped out !!

Today, I'll be disassembling my rear brakes again...

Driver side brake cable froze again!

These aftermarket cables are the worst ever. Luckily I found an OEM unit from dodge last year. Hopefully this one will last more than one freaking season until water gets in there and freezes the cable.

If they would just put a proper bellows seal on the end of the exposed side of the cable, this wouldn't happen. Oh gee whizz.... The manufacturer saves $.30 cents per cable..... Woo hoo !

NJTman.
Try putting shrink wrap around the front of the cable.
Shrink it on the cable in front of where it is covered in the black cable sheath.
Then leave the other end long and Zip tie it to the black sheath.
Leave enough slack in it that it doesn't bind when you use the E-brake.
That should keep the water out for a little while.

Should cost you about $.30 cents.
