Bell Crank
Bell Crank
Transmission guru screwed my my bell crank trying to get the transmission he just rebuilt to shift right. He cut the part of the pin that connects to the cruise control cable. Another shop found a couple of goofs in his shift kit install that explained the shift problems.
Anyway, the part is apparently made of unobtainium. Does anybody have one I can get, or can I get away with welding an extension on the pin?
Any other ideas?

Checked on the part, number has been changed to 3918456
Cummins has 5 at the factory, and they are real proud of them.
I'm sure they are -- you should have the tranny shop knucklehead who ruined your original lever cover the exorbitant cost of replacement.
Although sometimes expensive, the boys at Cummins Power South assured me they are confident they can still source any part on these engines -- for which I'm grateful. On the other hand, the Mopar dudes at my local Dodge dealership have no problem telling me a part is made of unobtainum and therefore I'm on my own.
At least now you know you can get a replacement should you decide to start welding on the original...
