1/8" Bump.
Hello, I have a 93 extra cab 4x4 i just bought and has had the auto tranny rebuilt and a new injector pump put on. The truck runs well but would like to bump the timing if i could. I have watched Crossy's video on the 1/8 inch timing bump and would like to try it. My question is, when i look at the timing mark on the pump it is below the mark about in 1/8 inch. Should i move the pump up even with the mark, or go above it an 1/8 inch?

Welcome to our forums Stockdog.
These folks in the 2nd gen board might not be fully up to speed with the 1st gen stuff. With that, I'm gonna move your thread to the 1st gen board.
To answer your question, I'd move the pump so that the original marks lined up. Then drive it around to see if it were to my liking.
How do you use your truck? What are your ultimate plans for it?

Oops! Thanks David, I will stick to 1st gen board. Thanks for the reply. I will be haulin my 8 foot camper and towing my mopar car around if I ever get it done. I am simply trying to get a little better mpg. I read that the 1/8 inch bump could boost milage a bit.

my right foot keeps my mpg in the teens...i think its a combination of mis-understood mileage counter mixed in with foamy fuel in the tank thats throwing my mileage way down. Also will blame winter fuel and global warming.

Foam can throw your numbers off a lot too. I can get 1.5 gallons more in the utility bed after the foam shuts the pump off. I just wash the windsheild and mirrors then come back and slowly top it off untill I have liquid in sight in my fill tube.

yeah i know its the foam throwing me off... using a truck stop to fill up because mom and pop stations flow 1 GPM... and the Lukoil is way too expensive by me. I usually go about 300-500 miles(on alleged trip meter) before i fill up and it takes between 17 and 25 gallons to fill her up. Had never gotten below the bottom five, even with riding the E for a day or two. Although i did notice a good power increase and more noise with my further timing bump. I'm debating weather to go back or not. can't confirm a mileage change because my gps broked.
