Yes, I had 315/75R16 on my stockers for a while

On an 01 Aluminum wheel, they will fit

The 00-02 aluminum wheels are 16x8 with 6.25" of backspacing.

if you have ur stock 01 rims

it should be like a 16 x 7 or a 16 x 8, or similar, if you have a 94-98, i do believe they were 16 x 6.5, at least my stockers were. I have seen people run 305s on 94-98 stock and they dont look right and wear centers out too quickly, but on the 01's they are not as bad to wear out. I have aftermarket 16 x 8's and i run 285s just perfectly..

My gallery shows pics of both 305's and 315's on the factory alloy wheels.

You have to play with air pressures but I got my 305's to wear dead flat and got 50,000 miles out of them.

The 315's, I'm still playing with pressures but I won't get the mileage out of them like the 305's.

Suspension is stock with the exception of a Daystar levelling puck in the front.

As for rubbing, yes both sizes did/do. It's minor, you learn to live with it.

Yes tires are not cheap, but you have to remember, your dealing with a 7000+ lb truck with the wieght of the average car sitting on the front tires. It's going to depend on how you drive, where and if you tow.

Mileage is luck of the draw. I know guys that have toasted tires in as little as 15,000 miles and guys that are still on them at 65,000+.

Right now, I alternate between the 315's and a set of 285's depending on whether I'm towing a lot or not. When the 315's die or I just get "tired" of them, I'll go back to a set of 305's if I'm going to go any bigger than my 285's.

Big rubber also means a little more wear and tear on other parts, keep that in mind also.

Hey MADMAT

Sounds like a stupid question but I know your truck as "Brownies". Are you the same guy?

I've known you since you bought the truck, you used my EZ during a dyno day at the old PAAL shop.

You coming to the get together on Jan 9th in Red Deer?

I figured that was your truck, been awhile since I've seen you around.

No dyno in Red Deer, just a good old BS session with a bunch of diesel heads.
