Accessories...Factory Fog light add on (not factory option)

Two questions...

Does the kit come with a replacement dash switch like in the factory 03 trucks or an additional rocker switch?

Aslo,

Is the 03 Ram 2500 factory wired for the fog lights or does the kit come with a wiring harness?

Thanks a bunch.

If the kit is like the 02's, it comes with a replacement dash switch. I recall a price of around $200, but not sure. Hmm, Schuylkill River Valley. I used to bike along there often and took the insane Expressway daily for 12 years. Is it still an "adventure"? :

I have a kit with part number 1-82207251 and it doesnt have the replacement light switch. It has an additional rocker switch and was wonder if this is what I am suppose to be getting.

From what I understand (on wobbly legs) is the 1-82207521 is the "old" kit.

Does anyone know what the new part number is?

Also, anyone know if the wiring harness is part of the 03 ram or do I need to install one. The kit I have has one included...the saleman says the truck has the harness. I am all confused.

FYI for archive purposes the kit includes the following, I know because I installed one on my 03 Dually:

The actual kit # is : 82208102 and retails for $169.00

Two fog lamps with brackets and screws / bolts

Wire harness with relay

Rocker switch (very nice)

Front bumper louvers to replace stock vent style

Very Crappy instructions (I could had my 4 year old niece write better instructions!)

This kit was very easy to install and took about an hour to put in. Going this route also allows you to keep your fogs on with the high beams. ;D Here is a pic of the fog lamp switch.

OH, the aftermarket accessory allows the fogs to stay on with the high beams?

That is interesting, actually I like it.

Do the fog lights turn on with the parking lamps or the headlamps?

I agree the instructions that come with the kit are crappy.

They come on with the parking. When hooking up the relay you have to strip back one of the parking light wires and hook the relay up to it. When you turn the parking lamps on it will activate the relay the circuit will complete if the switch on the dash is closed, other wise the lights will be off. Pretty simple.

The reason whey they stay on with the brights is because of the way its hooked up. There is no interupt circuit to cut power to the relay supplying power to the fog lamps. On factory systems they have to do that, I assume its a law or something to pass manufactoring standards, who knows. After the fact its not a big deal.
