Difference in years for Edge Comp?

Is there a difference in the Comp between years. Like from a 02 will it work in a 99?

I think you have to buy an adapter of some sort but it will work otherwise.

Re:Difference in years for Edge Comp?

As stated 98.5 to 2000. On the 2000's the connection is different, but solved with an adapter.
In 2001 they also changed the voltages on the MAP sensor so a previous year box will definatly not work properly even if you "rigged" the connections.
2002 I know they changed the connection again but I am unaware of any programming changes that might have occured.

Re:Difference in years for Edge Comp?

I contacted Edge and they gave me the answer. A box from a 01 or an 02 will not work on a 98.5-00 since the voltage on the map sensor is different. Just like KatDiesel said. The 01 will work with an 02 but for the 02 you need an adapter since the plug itself is different.

Re:Difference in years for Edge Comp?

I'm going to add to the MAP sensor voltage difference angle here:

With the .7 volt reading at idle of the 98.5 - 2000, you'd think that the 01/02 Comp would come in harder if hooked to one of these trucks, but it doesn't. Changes in the 01/02 ECM program required that Edge be less aggressive on 01/02 program than they were on the 98.5 - 2000. So putting an 01/02 Comp on a 98.5 - 2000 will actually result in a box that comes in slower than 98.5 box will. It will work, just not as well. It'll be like turning down the sub-fueling level.

Rod
