boost question

Finally got my tuner back after being fixed. Also got some gauges. Will be getting boost fooler soon. I figure I need about 10 lbs more boost. Instead of using devices to somewhat restrict the waste gate why can't you just close the waste gate totally? What kind of boost would your turbo make then?

The problem with just closing the wastegate is that you can overspeed the turbo and blow it up. You can run a boost elbow, either bought or home-made, or you can buy a Turbo-Master wastegate controller (adjustable with 1/2" wrench). The turbo only makes good boost up to 35 psi, after that it's just heating the air - which means you get less air rather than more.
