Question about boost and boost fooling (Long, sorry!)
I have searched around but can't find the answer I'm looking for. Or maybe I have and just didn't know it, this Iraqi sun can melt your mind. In a long time, when I finally get to go home, I'll be upgrading my sticks, studs, and will be going with a set of twins. My current settings for evrything are : Juice is off, but I use the monitior for my boost and EGT gauge. I have a fuel only/no boost fool (so it doesn't screw with the boost reading on the edge) tune loaded in my X2 that I keep on 1. The Smarty is on TNT 5 or 7, RP 2, TM2, Torque 3, and Wastegate on. So basically I'm just using the boost fooling capabilities of the Smarty. Here are my questions:
1. Will the boost fooling of the smarty be enough for daily driving and the ocassional stop light stomp with twins?
2. If I had to use either the Juice (level 1) or the X2 for boost fooling, which would work better?
3. If I do have to use the X2, it doesn't let the Juice show more than 25lbs of boost. Is there a work around for this so I could still use the Juice for the boost gauge?
I know this has probably been beaten to death somewhere, but the melted brain just can't find it. I really do appreciated any insight.

I don't know, I've been trying to figure this out too. With just my smarty, wastegate on or off I get the same boost readings and the most boost I can get is 34-35, and thats rare. Usually I only see about 32-33. But when I had a quad on it before the smarty I could hit 41-42 pounds of boost easy. So if the smartys boost fooling is working, it doesn't do as good of a job as the quad did, but to me it doesn't even seem like its working at all, and I dono how to get it to if its not.

this has come up a lot. The Smarty does not fool. The Smarty doesn't do anymore than the ECM will do which is 40 to 44psi. Some trucks will throw a overboost code in that range and some don't but, if you go to high you will throw a overboost code without a fooler installed.

Guys...this topic is getting out of hand...
DL's don't fool anything.
The rewrite the rules! So...if OEM programing says open the wastegate at x psi (on a stock turbo) and throw an overboost code at 35 or 38 or whatever...that is what the ECM does.
So...Smarty on stock turbo programs opens the waste gate a x psi and does not throw an overboost code at all (unless you are one of the "wierd" trucks). Smarty on Aftermarket turbos does not do ANYTHING with the wastegate...and never throws an overboost code. The OEM boost sensor can only read till 40 psi or so...so if you monitor boost that way...that is the max you can see...period. The Attitude monitors boost through the OEM sensor...and in your case it is accurate till 40 psi.

Thats exactly what mine does everytime. Hits about 35-36 then drops right back down to 31-32 and hangs there. Like I said, with the quad, I could hit 41-42 easy. I dono what the deal is with this one

I think this is what I was looking for. So with a set of twins, the boost readings on the Attitude are about useless then? So I'm thinking my best bet is to use an actual boost gauge, and load the X2 up with a boost fooling program. Looks like it might be time to sell the juice.
