Max Boost Question RV 275’s and Boost Fooler

Well I installed my boost fooler last night. I am running an 01’ with auto and a set of RV275’s. The kit I bought is from BD Performance and came with the waste-gate bracket and spring.

I got everything buttoned up and ran it. I see a peak of about 26lbs of boost for a split second, then it settles on 24lbs. Is this normal, or do I need to tighten down the spring adjustment a little more. I thought I should see around 29lbs at WOT. Max EGT's are at 1200deg so far. That is for a full throttle blast to 90mph from a dead stop.

I am running stock air box and stock exhaust with Dynomax straight through race muffler.

Thanks,

-Dave

That is all I got when I had my RV275's and a TST PM3 turned off (still works as boost fooler but adds no additional fuel).

Besides, if your EGT's are 1200 after the pass you stated, you dont need or want anymore boost at all. Your perfect !!!

67HotRod,

I can tell you I love the 275's. The muffler is LOUD so it took a little getting used to. It takes much longer for the EGT's to get up there than with the stock muffler.

It might be my imagination, but the boost fooler made a difference in the power. I don’t feel it nose over at 20lbs boost now. I swear after putting the bracket on last night that it has better off idle performance as well. I ran it all day yesterday with just the fooler plug installed. I had to wait for it to cool down last night to install the spring and bracket.

I am very happy with it for now. I know my bands in the tranny are about finished, I re-adjusted them when I installed the Trans-go kit and they were very thin. I am holding back on the power some until I can go through it. The plan is to save up and go through my tranny and install a valve body, and low stall converter. I do my own tranny work, so it will not take too much $$$$. From there I will add a MAD ecm or Edge EZ. I figured bang for the buck wise the boost fooler with 275's will get me through till Christmas with the least damage to my wallet.

We installed stage 3's in a friends truck this weekend. He is running an 02' HO with BHAF and 4" exhaust. His smokes like a trane till the boost comes up. He loves it of course. He wants to try a fooler, but is saving for a MAD ecm as we speak. There is noticeably more power through out his power-band. It does however smoke pretty bad. He needs to get the boost up to realize its full potential.
