Boost Guage install

In the process of installing guages, where do I need to tap into the vacuum line for the boost guage to work correctly? I don't even see any vacuum lines on my motor to begin with. I'm sure that I'm an idiot and this is very simple, and I'm also sure that someone out there has a pic of where this "T" is spliced into the vacuum lines on a 2nd Gen 24V. Help please!

vacuum is the opposite of boost. you have to put it between the turbo and the head. they make a bolt that is threaded that goes in the head to hook it up with. someone will post pixs I'm sure

OK, so i figured out that I need to use a "boost bolt" and that the normal location is to remove an intake bolt and use the boost bolt in its place. I received a boost bolt with the kit but it is quite a bit larger in diameter than the intake bolts on my motor, i'm guessing that the threads on the bolt are 3/8"-7/16". So, could there be another location on these motors that would accept this larger boost bolt?

On the 24 Valve the boost pressure port is a 3/4" pipe plug requiring a 1/2" square drive ratchet extension for removal and is located on the side of the intake rearward of the fuel filter bracket.
You will need purchase a 3/4x1/8" pipe bushing from the hardware store. It might take two bushings depending what your store has to offer.

Just use the boost bolt.
It is a simple install and takes less that 5 minutes.
I'm sure someone here will post a pic to show you, it goes in place of one of the intake bolts.

The problem with the boost bolt they (autometer) gave me is that it is bigger than the intake bolts, quite a bit bigger. I'm just going to have to buy a bushing to thread into the 3/4" plugged hole near the back of the block on the drivers side. This appears to be the best option available to me at this time. Thanks for all of the input.

I used the 3/4" npt bushing. You just have to use some adapters to get it down to the correct size (1/8" npt??). You can get everything you need for cheap at Home Depot.

Thanks alot for the input guys, I REALLY appreciate it. The truck is at Wyoming Diesel Power right now getting a south bend clutch. I talked to the owner about my dilemma and he promptly walked over to a set of drawers and pulled out a quick connect bushing threaded to the size of the intake bolts. It works like an air compressor fitting (almost) in that you just pull back the collar on the gauge side of the adapter and insert the line and it tightens against itself. He said he has installed hundreds of em and never had a problem. Talk about a quick install. Pull out an intake bolt, put this in its place and insert line......VOILA! It couldn't get any easier. Thanks again fellas! J
