Which Nerf Bars are Best?
I am looking at getting nerf bars for my '01 Ram CTD club cab. Can anyone give me good and bad feedback on what they have. I noticed Westin seems to be on the higher side? Saw some less expensive bars on Ebay but I am always leary of a deal that looks too good to be true because in my experience it usually isn't?
Thanks
Thanks
I really liked my Westin steps, but they rusted pretty quickly & my girlfriend's 02' has the same bars & they are all to pieces, she lives on a gravel road & forget's to bathe the old Cummins & they are pretty well ruined, both these sets are the black steps, my bro-in-law has chrome?/stainless? westin's on my old 97' & they are holding up really well, if you go with the black westin's I'd recomend drilling s few holes along the bottom so the water doesn't get trapped in the tubes,& maybe silicone the ends where they bolt up to the brackets, it may help some with the rusting??? I was looking at the Nasta 3" bars tonight. They seem like a pretty good deal. SS bars as well as all SS brackets, bolts, etc. for around $250 shipped to my door. Anybody have a set of these installed and/or any pics I could see?

Hey I got mine from Willmore, (do a goole search) and there Great!! 304 Stainless Steel wheel to wheel and strong!! they had to make them for my long box Quad Cab, but it only took a week to get them in. they might have a dealer in your area.

im very happy with my westin platnium bars. They come in stainless or black powder coated stainless. I have the powder coated stainless. Also of all the places autozone had them cheapest. 250$ or so comes to mind for regular cab.

Dad had westins on his 97 1/2 ton. They were black and started getting surface rust after about 4 years. This is in Minnesota snow and salt though. Me personally, I like the Grizzly bars. They have a double bend in them that looks really cool. Little pricey for me though

He probbaly had the regular westins not the stainless ones. I've heard they regulars do rust pretty quick. the powder coating has chipped off mine on the underside where stones hit them and I put them threw quite abit of salt and they havnt rusted yet. Dosent mean there the best out there. I could just have gotton lucky with the 2 pairs I run
MINE!
They were on the truck when I got it, and I like em. They will never rust out cause they are aluminum, and they are sturdy, and they have a pretty good grip. Dad has Westins on his, and they look great, but they are now starting to rust, and come apart. I have only seen one other set like mine, and they were on a truck like mine, so I wonder if they were bought through dodge? Either way, they are pretty nice.

Smittybuilt i had em on my 2000 sport gasser and jacked the truck up with a high lift to get it back on solid ground lifting under the nerf bars. I also have jacked my 86 Toy P/U using my nerf bars

I think anything black has the rust problem after time......it just doesn't hold up like chrome and stainless.
I happen to like the Westins also, but I always spend the money and get stainless....hate to spend money on stuff that rusts.
