Question Air Intake for Twins?

I'd like to know what others are using for your air intake on your twins, how it's plumbed and what filter you are using. I am trying to fit 5" plumbing from my air filter to the HT3B, but it sure is tight. I have an AFE 24-91026 filter, with a 6" outlet on it, currently adapted down to 5". I am also having problems finding flex hose I can use for this application that I can't collapse.
Specifications and pics would be great.

Thanks,
Chris

Hey Stamey, a little off the subject here, but I am in the process of building a set of twins, an HX35 with the HTT stage three upgrade and 16cm housing and a ht3b from HTT and I would like to know what type of external wastegate you are using and what brand.

I'm using a 42mm billet Extreme Gate. It was made for motorcycles and is very compact.

Hey Stamey
Check out this (hope I figured out how to post a link ) picture of my Piers kit.
I dont know the # off hand of the filter but its a AFE and it slips on the 5" just right. And a tight fit for all that pipe is a huge UNDERSTATEMENT

I didn't. The great fellow who designed and built my twin setup, TimInVa, did. See pic.

My AFE is 5" the filter number is 24-50512. I used 5" elbows intended for heavy truck use, with 5" exhaust pipe to plumb it to the HT3B.

Ratsun, Thanks for the pic. It gives me hope. Got any pics with that intake pipe off?

DesertRat,
I suppose you cut 2 elbows close to the elbow and welded them together, like making a cold pipe? Does yours have a 180 in it, or do you have about 160 degrees turn in it? I'm thinking 160 is about what's needed to get from the turbo to pointing at the right rear corner of the engine copartment, where my Scotty hole is.

Thanks,
Chris

Oh, I already love it. I have had twins for over a year now, but I have been running my old Scotty II AFE filter on it with 4" and wanted to get the upgrade to 5" done.

Thanks,
Chris

My experimental Powercore filter has a 6" outlet, and should flow enough to hang with a set of twins.

Coming soon or never to a Donaldson distributor near you.

See my TDR gallery for pics. Or thread called "building a bette BHAF"
