Leaking fuel

I parked my truck at the school parking lot, got out, and low and behold I'm leaking fuel. I looked at my fuel filter and theres no fuel coming from there...I looked at the pump and i didnt see any signs. I was wondering if you guys could help me out.... also, i broke a engine mount bolt on the left side, and was wondering how difficult it would be to replace it since the engine is kinda cocked to the left just so much as i cant fit the bolt in the hole...how could i prop it up?

Yeah, you might have broken the return line at the back of the head when the motor dropped.

If it were a return line how hard would that be to replace?

There's really no pressure on it so you could patch it with a short length of fuel hose. If it was the one I'm guessing it is, it's kind of a PITA to get to.

ok, this might be a stupid question, assuming it is a return line, its not going to starve the engine of fuel...right?

It could keep you from starting the truck by letting air into the pump.

Yesterday as I trailered a horse from Tyler, Tx, to West Monroe, La, I smelled diesel everytime I would slow down. Went ahead and finished the drive. Got there, popped the hood with the engine running, diesel was pulse-spraying everywhere from between the fuel filter and the injection pump. There was about a 9-10" hose in there that was deteriorated pretty badly. I could barely see a portion of the hose after I felt up in there to determine that it was a hose. Had to remove the fuel filter and fuel filter mount to barely (read scraped up hands) get to the hose clamps. Unfortunately it occured on a sunday, and the only hose I could find was fuel injection hose, and the 5/16" I bought was a perfect fit. I figured it might hold up better than regular fuel line. I couldn't find anything on the box that said diesel rated, although I know that is what I needed. Do you all think the fuel injection line will hold up? Is the line on mine that busted part of the return system? Does it connect to the return line from the injectors? Thanks.

Unless it was diesel rated it might not hold up long.
What I would do is buy some diesel rated hose and keep it on hand just in case.
