Leaking fuel -fuel line question

I have a 2003 R3500 diesel. I noticed the other day diesel leaking down the side of my fuel tank. Further investigation suggests one of the two fuel lines is leaking at the bracket that holds them and runs inbetween the frame of the truck and the fuel tank. So the location is not an easy one to get to. Question is should I replace the entire fuel line or can I simply splice them with compression fittings? I don't know what pressure is in those lines.

Any suggestions on repairing this is greatly appreciated.

THanks

Bob

Splice away! Low pressure in those lines. One is the feed line, the other is the return line. Either way, they are both low pressure. As long as you have the factory lift pump ( up on the fuel canister ) there is actually NO pressure there. If you, or the previous owner, has had the "in tank pump update" by a Dodge dealer, then the max is still around 15 psi or so. The BEST way to do it would be with compression fittings and another piece of steel line, but you can use rubber hose. Make sure your rubber hose is diesel fuel compatible. Biodiesel compatible would be the best.
