its super easy luke , i have done 6 of them at work plug and play

 

The harness out of the Espar on mine was a blank plug end and you had to put in the pins. There is a blue wire in the #3 position on the heater and a rubber stopper in the male end of the plug harness. I have to put the pin/wire into the harness then run it to the engine bay. With the 97, I don't know if there is a relay in the system for blower power, just a fuse. so I have to put in the NO/NC relay.

 

I got my D5 from here http://lubricationspecialist.com/front/index.aspx for I want to say $1200 with the 7 day timer.
I got it last winter and its still sitting in the box in my garage LOL! I have a week off this week and I think I will be installing it.

 

So a couple days ago I rewired my Autostart to be a remote start for the heater. Ideal!

 

If you don't mind me asking...What was the total cost including GST??Did it come around $1200??Are there two version of the D5??One a hydronic D5 or is that the same as a D5....

 

if u go to polar inc in calgary , the heater is 899.00 and the timer is 300 . plus tax , for a d5 witch is a hydronic

Where does this mount exactly? I may have an issue with my Air Dog that's mounted on the driver's side frame rail - hopefully I can get it in front or behind.

Can it be mounted on the passenger side if absolutely necessary and run the fuel line across?

 

I mounted mine on the skid plate right behind my transfer case. Other than running the coolant lines its a decent spot it stays nice and protected and I havent had a problem so far.

Mine is on the drivers frame rail right at the front of the cab. I plan on putting it in the same place on the 12v, pending driveshaft interference. Did I mention I hate 4x4s?

 

The webasto install kit for 03/08 trucks mount the heater in front of the right steer tire, behind the plastic inner fender. Which makes a short run for the coolant hoses. Yes I have taken the training coarses for these heaters, the small heaters are to be mounted as close as possible to the engine. The webasto blue heat kit comes with a stand pipe that goes into the fuel tank sender housing.

 

So what D5 Espar is worth $1900, if they seem to fall is the $1300 range with timer?
