DOH! I have a complete '03 HO block with an overheated/collpased #6 piston that I trying to unload. If yours doesn't work out I only want like $500 for it.

Also have a rebuilt head from Cummins ready to go. Picking it up from the head shop this week.

Over heated piston would screw the bore. But it can be resleved for a few hundred bucks.

Yes there is some damage to the bore so a re-sleve would be needed.

Gotcha... maybe after all the dust settles with the build of this one and I have any money left and you still have it I might pick it up from you, as a spare.. seeing as I seem to be a little bit hard on parts and all,, LOL

Well for what we have seeing in carnage in bent and broken rods the 03 and up ( powered rods) can not handle big power they just snap The 2ed gen rods ( FORGED) just bend or you could go and spend 3 to 4 grand for good rods rodshttp://rrconnectingrods.com/store/cummins-diesel-billet-4340-hbeam-rods-p-72.html?osCsid=e4d38d93041ddc3c7f1fe04562e7d8bf if you want to put down hp in the 1200+ range. you need to decide where to draw the line, unless money is no object. need to really sit down and take it over

I thought that the first gen rods out of the storm block are the heavies? Clayh, how soon did you want to get rid of that old motor? I'm interested.

Kevin, here is one in Calgary but not cheap:

http://calgary.en.craigslist.ca/pts/1343790480.html

There was talk of problems with RJ Performance not delivering to U.S. guys on CumminsForum, but they are a legitimate shop in S.E. Calgary.

That is definately not cheap Joe. I just bought an engine with 84k on it, complete with tranny, no turbo or exhaust manifold for 3800.

Thanks Kim, I am going to do some homework for sure... what pistons is he running now?

What we have found, read, researched, 03\04 pistons have more meat and what I have heard even the 07 have gone back to the older style
