Tell me that's not my old baby you did that to...

Sorry to hear about that Rob. I know in the 94 you got, I had a similar thing. somebody not signal, rolling uphill, didn't realize they were slowing quite as fast as they were, had no idea they were turning... Smoke coming up from the wheel wells... but I missed them... Scared the living manure out of them though...

I got a quote for fenders for her out of Saskabush (Estevan). Was half the price of fenders here in Edmonton - installed and painted. Not sure if that info is of any use to you...

Ya know... the 06 has way more conveniences, and the cab is lots nicer, but I'm still not convinced I like it better than that old beast...

Time to do her up nice buddy. It will look pretty good once you get some time to work on it. You still thinking about using a sport front? Its just lite fender damage, considering it could have been worse.

Ironbrew, As for the 94, I have the rear axle in my truck, so that truck isn't going any where fast.

As for brakes, what you thinking about using?

Brett found me a cool link for rear dana 80 stuff to get my old disk onto the dana 80 axle. http://www.tsmmfg.com/2682.htm

I'm going to look into using the larger third gen or fourth gen stuff. The stock rear disks are 12.5 and the fourth gens rears are 14in and the front are 14.5in. Not that the rear 94 drums are that bad either.

well i have a 2006 dodhe 1ton dwl diff so i am going to look at that stuff and see if i want to use that stuff , the brakes in my truck work good but , i think i should of been able to stop before hitting that truck , so bigger brakes it is ... big thing with drums is the first few time you use them in a short time they work great , but then there too hot to work right , dics takes alot longer to do that as there vented

Cool, might be a cheap brake upgrade/fix. Lots of trucks used the rear disks. It will be interesting to see how much you have to adjust things for the newer stuff. It might just be something simple like the caliper bracket, I'll be down there later and we can giver a try bud.

Nothing like trying to stop and you can't/but you have to stop...

I have a link somewhere to doing it Mike-the caliper brackets bolt right on, use the newer rotors and reuse your original calipers. If I can find it I'll PM it to you.

Cool thanks buddy. Maybe there will be a few of us doing this mod. Rob and I looked at the newer CR truck today. We just need an adapter plate made up and it should just bolt onto the dana 80. Have to check to see if the 16in rims fit or I will have to buy 17in rims. Might for kicks see how much $$$ the stuff is for the 10, it has 14in rears.

As for Robs truck. I can't wait to see the finished product. Going to be one nice driver bro... I stopped by today to get my truck finished off (o ya she does a decent one legger burn out) Thanks letting me dirty up your shop again buddy...

I think as soon as you upgrade to the large '03 and up brakes, you're forced into 17s. I already have them, so not a biggie for me when I pull the trigger.

FYI guys

No we just use the GM calipers because you can put on parking brake and non parking brake calipers. Brackets and bolts are $240.00 for the pair. It uses 5445 rotors. We have not found that dust shields are needed.

Rob, I got this info from the TSMMFG. Might not work, with my old dodge stuff. At least it fixes that e-brake issue for the rear disks. The 5445 rotors are 12.5in diameter, and 3.225in heigh. Its not dodge stuff as mine are 12.73in and 5.15in

Price seam pretty good for converting, The only question I have is how well do the park brakes on the calipers hold? and what do you use for ebrake cables?

Probably not any better than the stock one did. I really never had an E-brake that actually worked on my 02 truck. My 10 truck set-up e-brake works nice, real nice.
