Years ago I happen to have buckets in a vehicle and one of my kids jumped in while I was cleaning it. He had a sharp object in his back pocket. Later when I went to have it repaired and was shocked by the price, I found out the price for the bench style would have made me stained by pants. I only buy buckets now.

Something to consider.

This is true for the 1500 only.

i would imagine its because of the 6 speed and the ability to manually change gears via the tap shift. who knows.

2500,3500,4500,5500 all have column shift for autos

floor shift for manual.

no center console shift available in an auto in any of the above mentioned truck configurations.

I ordered my Laramie 2 weeks ago and am getting the bucket seats. photos of the trucks with other seats (no console) looked like they had cup holders that folded down out of the dash. Thats what I have in my '98 and I hate them. Rattle rattle all the time if they are folded out. Sure they have improved but I like having the console cup holders and all the extra storage places. With just me and my wife in there most of the time the buckets will suit our needs best I think.

I like the bench, lots of times I drop off the wife at a store that she likes and I wait in the truck.Nice to be able to lift up your legs from the driver's seat and take a nap.

I am talking about bucket seats with a auto tranny and the auto's shift lever being in the consol.
My son has a 4x4 Hemi/buckets/auto/consol mounted shifter!
So I presumed it would be the same on a 2500 Laramie 2wd.....they say NO---coloum shift lever. Dang I really like the way my son's looks.
Has nothing to do with 4wd
