Speaker size??

I'm planning a complete stereo overhaul in a couple months and am trying to get ideas on equipment to buy. My question is what size are the rear door speakers? I've read some people use 5.25" and others say they put in 6 or 6-1/2". Will the 6 1/2" fit without modifications?

I replaced the back speakers in mine and it didn't look like you could get a 6-1/2" will fit.

You'll just need to drill a couple small pilot holes, or use self tapping screws. Piece o cake.

Thanks for the info. So the 6.5s will fit in the opening ok, I'll just need to redrill screw holes?

I think the front speakers on my 04.5 are 6x9. Are your doors different and will mine take a 6.5 or is the 6.5 a better option for sound?

Correct. I can't remember what size drill bit I used, but it was probably one of the smaller ones.
