Anyone else running this stuff....

Just wondering if any other members with a 5.9 are using this. It's the only Power Service I can find where I am in Canada (southern Alberta)....

I know additive threads have been beat to death, but what is everyone from my area (Canada) using?

Thanx in advance!

I usually use the silver bottle, but that looks like it has the slick diesel in it which is for lubrication!! I think that might be the anti-gell version?

Probably can't see in the photo, but it says it prevents gelling, cleans injectors, boosts Cetane up to 4 #'s, year-around formula. Is there anyone out there using this stuff???

Where do you get yours Roperteacher?

I use it during the cold part of winter and use the silver bottle during the rest of the year. I only have 104K on it so time will tell. Good post recently regarding lubrication values of various additives. It showed the silver bottle at about the middle of the pack but didnt mention the white. It may be the same. Get mine at Wallmart.

I don't think you are supposed to mix it with the Monster Energy drink unless you are racing or pulling though......

I run the white bottle in the winter, has the anti-gel. I run the silver bottle the rest of the year. Use it with MMO (marvel mystery oil) mixed 50/50, I add 1/2 bottle of the mix to every tankful. I get the PS and MMO at Walmart.

I use the silver bottle out here in HI. More for the cleaning and lubrication. I think it also has a higher cetane increase than the white bottle. I get mine at Walmart. And believe it or not they actually sell the white bottle here too. Guess they figure things start to freeze in the 50's here in Hawaii.

Read this.... http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=177728 , the test shows Marvel Mystery Oil made the lubricity worse. Also there are much better choices for fuel additives too.

I use that Bulldogger but only in the winter for anti-gelling. Very few options around here. I get it at Can. Tire for $6/litre ... Walmart wants $10/litre ($11.40 after tax) or $40/gallon ... good deal eh
I also use to mix in the MMO with it (to try it after reading all about it) but gave it up ... it's about $8/litre too ... whether it works or not I don't know but it's just all too expensive. I didn't notice any mileage or performance improvements over the period I added them but we need the anti-gel up here.

At what temperature is gelling really a problem? This'll be my first winter so I guess I should be prepared...

I'm not sure exactly but I start using the anti-gel when the temp gets around freezing continually ( 0*C or 32*F). If there is any water in your fuel it freezes at that temp and I assume that is what causes the gelling. One thing I do know is when the temp goes to -35*C (or -31*F) and you have any water in your fuel, you best have an anti-gel in your tank. Another important thing is to drain the water out of your fuel filter every few weeks.

The military starts using arctic diesel with the anti-gel it at 40* F consistently. Just FYI.

I have been using the silver bottle power service in the summer and the white bottle in the winter for 70,000 miles. No problems and starts on the first attempt at 4F without being plugged in.
