weight distribution hitch - $500 - reasonable - must buy in the morning?
I am getting a new trailer tomorrow. I need a stronger weight distribution set-up. The place that is selling me the trailer says they will sell me one for $450, but I am sure it is the cheapest set up avaliable. I got the set-up for my current trailer (trading in tom.) and the local trailer hitch place says it is the cheapest avaliable (Reese). He has a $500 set up that he says is the best. I think the brand was Eaz-lift. It did look like much better quality. The way the bars slid into the hitch looked nicer & cleaner. There is a set up made by Robin that is $239 at Camping world. Or can I just get 1000lb bars and just slide them into the current stuff I have? If you have any ideas let me know please. I am traveling tomorrow at lunch.
Thanx.

Hitch
Camping World has been involved in the hitch business for years. They sell and service everything they sell. They are a national sales and service outfit who stand by what they sell. You can take what they say about the hitch to the bank. If you are not too sure of that , buy some insurance to cover your rig from them. If you have a break down they will pull it from any spot in North America to the nearest service center. i have know them to pull a rig 700 miles to the nearest center for repair. That is something your local hitch dealer won't sell you. I'm a former employee of Camping World and I can honestly say they are the best. Give em a try!

Thanx guys. I just got to work. I will check out the Camping World stuff again. Even if the $500 set up is better, it is not loke buying a DVD player with a bunch of little high tech electronics.

I paid about $550 for Reese's top-of-the-line HP Dual Cam and 1200 lb Trunnion Bar setup. That price also included a Reese weight distribution shank and stainless steel ball. I'd make sure I knew what I was getting before spending that much on a WD setup. Good luck!
These are what I have:

I had travel trailers for years. I always used the Reese dual cam sway control system. It was near the five hundred mark for the heavier setup. The dual cam eliminates the separate sway contol that has to be removed before backing.

Well I lucked out. I got to the trailer place. They had a bunch of parts & stuff from trade-ins. The maintenance guy said he had some used ones that will fit in my current set up. He gave me the 1000lbs bars and he took my 750lb bars. I gave him $35 for being cool.
I am on the road.
Thanx guys.
