Re:weight distribution hitch
I use a WD hitch on my trailer. (see sig.) I have to. The trailer still puts 1500# on the ball with the bars tight. Weighs 6500# empty.

Re:weight distribution hitch
I agree that you don't see them on anything but campers most of the time. I use mine on both a camper and a utility trailer.

Re:weight distribution hitch
I have seen them only on "box" type trailers be it RV or Race hauler. I do not believe I have ever seen one on a flat utilty trailer. I have never used one on any of my trailers either. But because I am hauling tractors on a flatbed I can adjust the pin load by tractor placement so I have enver really needed one.<br>

Re:weight distribution hitch
My utility trailer is equipped with a Eaz-Lift and 900# spring bars when I'm loaded to max or hauling my Ferd-New Holland tractor. If your tongue weight is over 500# a equalizer must be used. Hitch receiver on Rams are built to handle Class III or Class IV. Class IV hitches are equalizer hitches and allow towing trailers over 5000# with tongue weights over 500#. Ratings are stamped into hitch components. 8)
