Injector shopping

Anyone have any experience with Power Driven Diesel in Utah? Looking at them for my next set of injectors for the 1st gen. They list a set of 6 hole .010 VCO. A little bigger than stock. but smaller than the 7X.010 SAC I'm running now. I do intend to turn down the pump and probably put my OEM fuel pin back in. Get the EGT and smoke back down and maybe reclaim some fuel mileage.

I think SAC's are dirtier than VCO's to begin with. Designed to run for long times at a steady RPM like in a boat motor. If you do get them don't touch the pump at first. One thing at a time. People run aftermarket pins with bigger injectors without a smoke show.

I think the '93's went to a .090x4 (?) for emissions.

Project Farm from Youtube went there from Missouri for their Gen2 tweek.

Conversation with Eric from THD can be enlightening. He will ask you the questions and draw a conclusion on your goal. When you call him, it's him on his cell phone.

If I remember correctly - the intercooled motors used a 6 x .009 injector. The '80-'91 run a 4 x .013 that ends up being a bigger injector than the '91.5-'93

I have bought some parts, not injectors, from Power Driven Diesel before in the past. I had no problems with their parts or service.

I like any injector shop that will tell you the hole size and count, all this "stage" and "hp" nonsense is a good sign that they are ripping you off imo. I insist on bosch bodies, and I wasn't impressed with SAC, I'll be going VCO on my next rebuild.

I knew what your where talking about.

I was looking at some 5X11 or some 5x12 VCO injectors from Ducky Injection. They where $400 for a set on reman Bosch bodies. $750 for a set of all new injectors.
I bought some 5x12 VCO Ducky Injectors for my P-pumped 12V motor that is going in my '70 Ramcharger. I liked what I got
I bought them from Crazy Carls Turbos. They where a great company to work with. They helped me with some turbo / injection pump / injector combo questions I had on the phone.

DDP doesn't tell you their sizes in the ads. I have a set of their nozzles. Stage III 100-150+ will support 400hp at the wheels.

""Pilot Hole Technology - These injectors use a 4 Hole + 2 Pilot nozzle. Pilot holes allow the fuel to come in gradually to help with spool time without having to have a ton of extra smoke

60 LPM Nozzle Flow" to me it is like having a spread bore carb. We will see how they work soon.

Someon needs to buy my new 5x12's in the for sale section.

Being on a limited, very limited budget I can't afford to experiment anymore. I also need dependable reliable transportation. I also need clean and efficient power. Blocking out the sun and melting the muffler has lost its appeal with old age. Because I still use my truck to haul and tow, going back to totally stock won't cut it either. I will be using the original injectors 6X.009 as cores for them to "rebuild" with new nozzles. Should have gone back with a stock IP, but hindsight is 20/20 as they say.

Someone needs to pick up these from me 5x12 DAP's. I pulled them off the rebuilt cores I got from DAP. Never ran them. Dropped DDP's on them instead. https://www.dieselautopower.com/dies...-12v5x12vco145 were $190 they have the Black Friday price of $175.50

+40-50hp with a VE pump. Someone buy them before I change my mind. LAST CALL

I never said these were sold yet the ad has that label. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ozzles-335725/

I pulled the trigger. Ordered a set of "flow honed" 6X0.009 injectors from THD. Was looking for 6X0.010, but those that were on the market are now off. By the time they get here, enough of the snow should be gone I can pull my truck out.

Not a happy camper, not happy at all. THD has seriously let me down. I ordered the injectors March 25th and it turns out they never had them in stock. This was supposed to be an exchange. They have my money; they have my OEM cores. Their reply to my latest inquiry " thank you for reaching out to me. I haven't had a chance to call you yet. However, the nozzles that we get from this hone shop don't seem to be ever getting done. Are you ok with changing your order to 5x12 nozzles?" If I had wanted 5X12 I would have ordered 5X12. I have requested a refund and return of my cores as I sent them to them, in running condition. I hope that is what I get back.

What are pro and cons of the 6X10 compared to the 5X12?

Last injectors I got where 5X12s from Ducky, but it was for a P-pumped 12V.

Sorry to hear that. I bought my own pop tester and nozzles this last go around. Fwiw 5x11s are way closer to 6x10s, than 5x12s
