If your'e talking about variable vane turbos, as far as I know, they have never had them in our Dodge Rams w/ CTD.

the reason i ask is....

The reason i ask about the vgt in the ISB is because i recently stumbled accross this site http://www.cummins-sp.com/engines/au...isb_engine.htm read down and it informs about the VGT turbo.

I currently work as a tech for a f.rd dealer and am looking to buy a dodge and want to know if this info is for true or not. people say yes some say no so which???

thanks.

Yes there is a ISB with the VGTurbo , and is only available with the med. trucks, the engine also has EGR set-up and rear gear train versus the front gear train we have in the dodges.

They probably haven't changed it. A couple of years ago there was speculation of the VGT and EGR going in the '06.

Thats got to be a marketing/advertizing error. I read it and it does make you think variable geometery turbos are used from 2004 and up.... but it just isn't the case. I know that vgt's are used to reduce lag time but I gotta tell ya that with 610lbs/ft at 1600rpms, there isn't much soggy bottom end with our CTD in the Ram. Nice to see a F**d guy looking at a real truck with a real truck engine....

Banks is using a Garret hybrid in form a vgt. They showed it on extreme 4x4. But you have to use their system to control when the vanes open and close.
