OEM stereo question For 2005 SLT Diesel

Hi I just had an Alpine 9852 hu installed and the installer informed me they had also used the OEM amp.My question is what type of amp is the Oem as it is not the infinity and what kind of power does it have? When they hooked them together is there a conflict with the power of the head unit to the amp? I checked the truck maintenance cd and it has the infinity amp listed at 360 watts and the sub amp at 140 it does not say what the SLT amp power is.I would also like to know what is possible with the OEM amp can i hook up tweaters in the dash speaker spots with it ect.The installer also mentioned i could adjust the gain in the amp does anyone know how to do that.Thanx and Happy New Year....Cheers

You should have saved you money and bought the RB1. Its an Alpine head unit made for Dodge. PLus it gives you the NAV system and is plug and play. You can get them on EBay for about 450

I just looked on Ebay and the cheapest I found was $1300. I only typed in RB1 radio though. Maybe I need to do a more extensive search, or perhaps some one could inform me what to look for.

Unless you have the Infinity system I don't think there is an external factory amp on 2500s or 3500s.

I dont think that is possible unless the wired your head unit to the amp and did not use the power from your radio. you can not have 2 power sources, so they used one or the other. i have an alpine head unit and used external amps. i have no idea where or if there is an amp on trucks without infinity system, i highly doubt it though.

off topic a bit, is it the RB1 or the RB4 that you have to have the CD in the player to use the navigation? Also, do they both play DVD's?
