I recently bought a 07 3500 slt and it has aftermarket kenwood single din stereo. originally had the basic radio not the nav.

so, only one speaker works (drivers door) adjusted balance and all the other speakers are dead. I read that these truck have a factory amp and that could be the problem or is that jus with the nav units?

going to pitch this stereo for a pioneer nav/touchscreen but would like to figure out the problem so I know what to purchase

I doubt yours had a factory amp, I believe those were only on the infinity branded systems. Easy way to tell: if you have speakers in the dash you probably have an amp.

 

It could have been wired incorrectly by the person who installed it. I have an 06 and just installed a Pioneer AVH x8500 BHS. I got it from crutchfield and asked them which adapter would be required. They told me which adapter harness to get, but on the harness i had a few extra wires that didnt match up with the new stereo harness, so I called and they sorted it out for me. Very easy install, as fire as matching up wires goes. the biggest pain was routing all the extra stuff (sirius, mic, ipod, phone cables) through the dash. But it's all sorted and running great now.
