SLT vs SLT Plus
I'm shopping for a 2000 - 2002 2500 for my daughter. When I checked Edmunds.com to compare some pricing they have a listing for a SLT and a SLT plus. There appears to be about a $500 difference in pricing. Could this be what they are calling the SLT Lariat package? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

The "Laramie Plus" is equiped as follows: Steering wheel mounted radio controls, Burled wood looking Dash surround, Leather seating, Full power/heated front seats w/ adjustable lumbar support.
These options were all available on special order but were included in the "plus" upgrade for the Ram.
And the correct terminology is "Laramie"... A lariat is a Ford product!

In 2002, SLT+ was the highest trim offered. There was even an SLT+ on the early 3rd gens. Laramie was introduced later in the 3rd gens as they started offering more luxury features.
The SLT+ on the 2nd gens gave you things like leather, overhead console, power seats, CD player, etc.
I have an SLT (the next trim down) and have none of these options.

Oh great, I did write the 'f' word. I'll probably get banned!
HOHN is correct, I forgot the OH console, CD etc. I'm not too sure but I think the 'plus' was an option in 01 also. My rig is an 01.5 so I can't say for sure.

The truck we looked at last night was a 2001 2500. It had the SLT - Laramie badges on the door pillars. I didn't think to look at the rear brakes to see if they were disk or drum. The dealership was closed so I couldn't ask any questions - doing preliminary evaluation of our options!

Hohn, when did they make that change?
My 96 is an SLT Laramie and according to the build sheet and the available options, the only thing I don't have is the power leather seats which was special order. I'm reasonably sure the same was true for 97 and 98, but without rooting around for the sales lit I can't go any newer. The 94-96 has WT, SLT, SLT Laramie for trim levels.

My first 98 was a SLT Laramie with most the options (still have the order sheet for that one) and the one I have now is a SLT Laramie that seems to have every option that was available far as I can see....Power leather seats, overhead, wood grain, PHM, Infinity, etc. SLT+ came in around Y2K as mentioned and included the leather/wood grain and so on.

Wood grain started in 98, heated seats started in 01, steering wheel controls started in 01. Otherwise, everyone else was spot on. I have whatever they called it (every option) from 99 and have no heated seats, no wheel controls, and no rear discs. One of these days my dad will come home and his 01 will suddenly be missing some things

Mine has the emblem that says slt laramie but it didn't come with overhead console, steering wheel radio controls or heated leather seats. So is there a Laramie and then a laramie+ or am I just losing it?

x2, I think my 01.5 was decked like yours, and it had the SLT Laramie badge too. When I first bought it, I was thinking bonus SLT Laramie, then got in the truck, and was like "where's all the bells and whistles?"....no power mirrors, no electric seats.
